Do you ever leave class early because it's so boring? Is there a stratagy to leaving early? Is leaving early rude to the instructor or fellow students? What if you keep falling asleep? Is it best to remain or excuse yourself?

Yes, I have. I just get up and leave when the teacher is facing the board and her/his back is toward us so he won't notice or I just pick up and leave and stare at my phone and act like it is important. It is rude to leave but if you do it in a quietly matter then it should be ok. If you're loud and make attention to the class then it is rude. Source: I am a full time college student, lol

No offense but isn't it still quite rude to leave? I mean, of course if you feel sick, it's alright. But I mean... won't he take a note of you leaving? At my school they does that. And if we are away more than 8% of the time, we'll get suspended from the school. Doesn't your school have that kind of system? Also, where do you live?

I didn't leave class early before. Yea, I think it's pretty rude unless you have a valid reason for doing so...[boring isn't a valid reason btw! XD] I'm always falling asleep in my lectures... I'm not sure if it's obvious enough or not. But I'll stay through the whole lecture even though I'm sleepy XD. I don't want to miss out anything [sleepy mode, but I would still try to listen ... XD]

Yes! I wouldn't lie about that. As a student we all experience this, having a boring subject. That's what I hate of all about studying. I sometimes drop the subject in order for me to run away from the boring hours. I sometimes talk to the instructor about the way he teaches us, but I don't tell him directly that I feel bored. I also suggest things that I think would help him out about the students being bored.

Generally speaking leaving during a class is very disrespectful to the instructor and they will not appropriate someone leaving in the middle of class for no good reason like an appointment. My instructors at college really hate it when you leave in class or they really will talk to you about it unless you tell them you are going to leave prior to starting class. Also packing up your stuff early creates a distracting to the instructor and they do not like you cutting their class short just because you want to leave early.

I had an experience leaving the class early. just last semester, my class was 5:30 to 7:00 in the evening. The prof asked us to write something but it was already late. good thing she left for a while and I escaped ^_^ because my work starts at 7:00. My classmates said, she didn't notice that i left already. I remember wayback highschool, to cut class was an issue, for them. While the teacher was writing on the board, of course he couldn't see me, i would go out first and the rest will follow. We would roam around and say hi to our friends in the other sections. The goodies were left behind; they were few. The teacher noticed, and he got mad but i didn't know because i was chit-chatting with friend. Suddenly I realized, they were gone. I went to our classroom and heard the sermon, he was really mad. Of course i didn't show myself up, I hid. LOL reminiscing the past, how much i missed those times.

I do leave class early once in awhile. I always try to fight the urge to leave but sometimes the teachers could be so boring that I just can't stand sitting there and listening anymore. I'm in college and all my classes have at least one hundred and fifty students so it's not noticable if I just slip out the back door. So far in my one and a half years in university, I think I had left early three times. I'm such a dare devil.

lol For many times I did running away from the class due to the boring lectures. =) However, it's not really good; since it'll left bad image to the lecturer. Haha~ For my experience, I usually will not bring my bag with me to attend to the boring lessons; so that I could easily get away by giving the reason that I'm going to the washroom. :p I do not know about the instructor feeling...but I think it'll surely caused the anger of the instructor. However, thinking in different way, if I keep falling asleep in the class, the instructor will become temperated. and I think...the fellow student will not feel my rudeness since they also knew the boring that the instructor given.

I've left class early. never because i was bored or sleepy. i leave for more productive reasons. like i work, or something of that sort. or even just because i want to. with no reason behind it :) i've seen people sleeping in class. that i do think is rude. leaving early from class, i wouldn't say its rude, because people don't know why you're leaving. it could be something important.
