What is your foundation for Truth?

The word truth...it's used so loosely in today's society. A simple word, but without it anything I, or anyone else says, is only opinion. There is a movement that says truth is subjective, that nothing is true except that which an individual believes as truth.
Doesn't that sound convenient?
Years ago I knew a woman who tried to convince me that everything we see, even our very existence, is merely an allusion...that nothing actually exists. I guess that's one way to avoid everyday reality, I suppose, but when everything around me suggest other wise, it's a bit hard to accept that as truth. I mean, slam your hand in a car door and tell me it doesn't exist. If your going to try and convince me that I don't exist, you need to bring something to the table.
A foundation is important to what we believe, for what we hold as truth. Are you seeking truth, or someone's belief? Do you have a solid foundation for what you believe, or do you sway with whatever doctrine comes your way?
To be clear...I am a christian man and my foundation is the Bible as the word of God, as truth. I have solid reasons for my belief and for putting my faith in Jesus as Lord.
We believe what we believe because we believe it's true...or we simply wouldn't believe it. Make sense?
So, what is your foundation for what you hold as truth? What does truth mean to you? How does it effect your christian walk?

Truth needs to be seen as more than just words. it has to actions, expressions and the code by which you live your life.

The truth as I know it is that we were created by God, born into sin, and redeemed by God through Jesus Christ. The only truth there is was put into the Bible. It was written by men, inspired by the Holy Spirit, and sent out to the world to either accept it or deny it. We all have a choice we can make, to believe or not believe, given by God called free will. I, myself, lived in sin for the first thirty two years of my life. It took feeling Jesus presence to sway me to believe, plus, a healing soon after. For some it takes things like that, for others it come naturally. Anytime you want truth, read the Bible. If you don't want truth, watch the world progressions.

As a Christian myself, Christ is my foundation, the Truth, the Rock. It's hard to express that to people who don't know Him, but there is nothing more solid than the love of Jesus Christ. How does that effect my Christian walk? I have learned (or am learning, to be more exact) that Jesus is the One to run to whenever I am in trouble, bot because of things around me and things within me. He is on my side and He has never, ever failed to pick me up and set me back on the right path. That is the foundation for Truth - Faithfulness in action.

My foundation for life is the Word of God and Jesus Christ being my saviour is my truth to make that my reality. I do believe that some people are searching for something more concrete but it is not written in stone as to how we should believe. I find that God shows me many times in a day that He is true and real and that I should follow him.
