have you read the novel by Dan Brown? Do you believe in the possibility that Mama Mary was Jesus wife? Well, who knows. I am Catholic and I know who jesus is, I know who Mama Mary is. But their past is very distant from us. We may not really know what had happened during their time. What is important is that we have faith......

Actually the success of the novel Da Vinci Code is because it mixes fiction with facts. The line between fiction and fact is not visible in the novel so we cannot say much about it. Also, the fact that some of the points that he has discussed like male syndrome of the bible etc. are aspects which have been debated and there are no concrete proofs either way. So I just guess it is a good novel which brings forth these open issues again. Cheers! Ram

I believe it's a different Mary (Magdalene) the book is referring to.

He's right. It's not Mama Mary. The book is pointing out to Mary Magdalene, the "prosti" who offered Jesus Christ a drink during his calvary.

Hello cyrri_ako! First of all the book didn't point out to Mary(Mother of Christ) as his wife. The book points out to Mary Magdalene, who offered Jesus water to drink during his carrying the cross the land of skulls. The book stated that the real story or content behind them both was removed from the Bible to cover the man-side of Jesus. The book tells that they had a relationship and and even had a child! It also stated that Mary Magdalene wasn't really a "prosti" but belonged to a royal blood, meaning one of the richest during those times. Overall, I've read the book and nothing more. I didn't believe it nor bother myself knowing whether it's true or not. It's written in the Bible that many will try to pollute the minds of the believers. This is one of them.

no, according to the book, it is not actually mama mary that was claimed to be as "jesus's wife" but rather mary magdalene. according to the book they had a daughter named sarah and during jesus's crucifixion, mary magdalene and the templars escaped to egypt where she bore their daughter. that is believed, up to this day, the start of the bloodline that the priory has been protecting.

I am also a Roman Catholic, but what's next, a saint having a relation to someone else?

Dan Brown did not depict Mama Mary as Jesus' wife. In his novels, he explained how Mary Magdalene is Jesus' supposed wife. Mary Magdalene and Mama Mary are two different entities. You must have misunderstood what was written. Nevertheless you are correct, we never really know what happened during their time.
