We all believe in the existence of God whatever may be the religion we follow. The different religions are created by human beings only for what ever reason it may be and not by God Himself.Praying and worshiping one God by different ways and means why should we fight among ourselves in the name of religion.Suppose there are no different religions we may not fight religious wars. But there could be wars for different reasons.I some how feel that if there is only one religion or no religion at all in this world there will be no religious hatred and we all can live peacefully.Kindly note that no offence meant to any religion. What do you say..?

Well in my opinion all religions basically are the same, they tell stories about their prophets, and basically tell us to respect fellow man and treat each other with respect and kindness. I’m not trying to start a religious arguement, I’m just saying that all religions teach basically the same thing. We shouldn’t be discriminating Jews, Muslims, etc. They are just like you, sure they might dress different, worship different, but really we are all people and we need to recognize that and respect each other and stop insulting each other.

yes I agree what you say is ideal and we should show mutual respect for one another.Every one knows but only a few follow. But the majority is not mindful of it and the dangerous consequences that follow for religious hatred. What to do?.It is only my imagination and hope that if there is only one religion or no religion in this word there may not be religous wars.I do not know when my drream will become true...

Thank you very much for agreeing with both views.Generally you take a different stand in the discussions and you also give convincing reasons for you stand. That is good.Unless there is difference of views we will not be able to arrive at the truth. Is there any way to make people understand the importance of mutual respect.Eventhough they are aware of the consequences of hatred they still ignore the fundamentals of peaceful living.Let us all pray God to bestow them with a mind of peaceul thinking. What else can we do..

I believe in a higher being, that something happened that allowed our planet to have life when the ones that we have been able to study do not seem to have life on it. I feel that humans create this higher being into their own image, that explains why there are so many different versions of religion. I think that if we all agreed that there is a higher being and that each person can worship, or not, that higher being, things would be a lot better in the world.
I had a conversation when I was in Egypt several years ago, still under the Bush administration when tensions were higher, with one of my muslim tour guides. He said that most people want the same thing. They just want their family to be healthy, safe and to get an education so that they can grow up to live a productive life.

What you said is correct. There is higher being than religion. When it comes to religion people get very much involved. That is why I said if there is one religion or no religion at all in this world people would be happier lot.In reality people fight on the basis of religion which is tragic..

One can follow any religion he or she likes. It is also good to be religious. All religions say there is one God.Praying one God why should we fight in the name of religion we follow. All religions preach mutual respect but tragically we hate each other on the basis of religion. What is this madness all about.I feel very bad and sad to hear religious hatred.May God give us good sense..

Religion is nothing more than mankind's attempt to understand God. That idea couldn't be bad could it??? Perhaps the real problem is in mankind. There are so many lessons to learn. Religion is just one of the things that brings the problems to the surface so they can be dealt with. The problems must come out or no one would ever deal with them. If religion did not exist, something else would get things started.

As you say religions are created to understand God more closely.Tragically they created rift among the people. If not religion something else would have created rift. May be true.It is human nature which is first to be rectified.Religions by themselves did not fight but those who follow them fight. Therefore we should tune the human mind first and fightings will automatically disappear...

Our Lord Jesus Christ predicted that many will call upon His name and in Matthew, many false preachers will use His name for their own sake or to mislead others. What Jesus Christ predicted will happen. Thus, it is not unnatural to expect that there will be conflicting religion.
Wars usually arises from religious battle or differences. Try to observe among religions. What we can only do is try to open our eyes and compare how religious leaders are able to guide people well and pray hard for Him to guide us in finding the religion where He places His glory. Seek first and try to understand.

Having heard and seen bloodshed and killings in wars fought only on the basis of religion I feel that if there is only one religion or no religion at all in this world the unnecessary killings and blood shed could be avoided. But is it possible.Who should take the lead in this direction. If the religious leaders and politicians can come together on one platform and sincerely try they could inculcate univeresal brotherhood in their followers even though they may not be able to establish one religion for all the people of the world. Is there any other way,if so tell me....

I think the fact that we have different branches of religions is a good thing. It is cool to be able to go and be surrounded by those who have the same beliefs as you during worship services. No matter what religion you are, it is always nice to find those who can relate to you. It doesn't mean anyone's religion is better than someone elses, but it's definitely a good feeling to be surrounded by people you can relate to. Nothing is wrong with that if you ask me.

Do you thyink that what you say happens always. You are speaking of anideal society. But we are living in a diferent world where mutual hatred dominates mutual love.Is it not?We all worship one God and we are all children of God only. While worshing and praying one God why should we kill each other on the basis of different religions we follow. Is there any sense? Universal brother hood and mutual respect are the only solutions. But how many understand this truth..?

The word religion means a system of faith and worship. The need to follow a religion and abide by its precepts emerged because humans are not able to live according to their given nature. All living things have a 'Dharma' and they must live according to their Dharma. Lion's dharma is to eat other living things; and dharma of humans is to have a kindly and a humane nature. While lion is able to live according to his dharma we humans cannot. We tend to live according to our base nature and that is the animal nature.
People think they must follow religion to attain godliness. Attaining godliness is a farfetched concept. Before we aspire for it we must learn to live as a good human.
For ages religion has been a prop for human being. Some use it as a crutch to trudge along on the path of righteousness and some use that crutch to attack others. Those who are using it as a crutch to attack others are not following the right religion. Those who are using religion to stand morally upright are following the right religion.
Religion does not mean following some noble path to master your opposing tendencies. If you do so then you would only master the art of pretense. If you master the opposing tendencies the righteousness will not seep into your conduct. It would form a superficial layer on your animal nature. No sooner someone peels that layer off you would reveal your true nature.
To know who is following the true religion we must see them to know how human they are.
Just as we see some people adoring a popular actor and he or she begins to emulate that actor, in the same way if you adore and worship God, then God's very nature would seep into your conduct. Godliness would automatically come to you. Since God is not a living entity, we cannot have his image in front of us. Therefore, God has revealed his excellent nature in his emissaries, avatars from time to time. We must adore and worship them. Attainment of Godliness is a gradual process. Therefore, each Yuga (the age) has a different avatar. You must know the lord of this age. You must adore and worship him.
Who you adore and worship is most important. There would never be one religion or no religion. To live as human we would always need a religion. Some would follow the right religion and some would be led astray. This is happening at God's behest. He is doing so to sift the grain from chaff.

religion was created for letting people live by some rules and regulations which all should follow which changed us from barbarian to civilised there is a divine force which is called by diffrent names in all the cultures of the world then came a time when people started to follow preasts blindly and they twisted the simple religious facts to enforcements this coused some parallel cultures to grow and make a new religions basically all followed same religion in the begening

we need religion because to understand the world and spirit of a man. But if there is no religion then the world would become the largest dungeon. We should fear the one who created this world for us. one religion or many religions men remains the same. All these fight we may say due to religion is not true, the actual cause will be different it may be women, gold,or earth. some of the dirty people uses the religion for their personal profit. Now also it is the same like older times.now its used for politics ,gold, and women.
Say there is only one religion in the world. Then these bad people will find some otherways like language, color, way of living etc to mislead our people.
Our history its true.
so it has nothing to do with religion. because all religions teaches the same way,the god may be different, but all gods say the same thing.Love each other.
Now another way to say is all regions should say that those people who is in the other religion is also our people.
and also we should encourage inter-religious relationship like marriages .
so the next generation will think about it because his father will be in one religion ,his mother will be in other religion and his brother-in-law will be in a third one.So there it will stop.
