How do we find out if the site is scam?

It is very common to find scams on internet. Many sites are making fool of the members and they are trying to earn making scams only. The PTC sites are typical examples of such thing. The members keep working on the site for many days to reach to the minimum payout and then find that the site is not paying. It is really frustrating.
However, through experience we do learn finding out if particular site is scam or a legit site. For this there are many ways. Let us list such ways out here:
1. Find through google search.
2. Post on mylot or search on mylot to find if the site is legit or not.

try the bbb.
it'll give you all the information you need.
the many complaints.
how long the site has been around.
and a ton of of things.

I do not think that most of our readers know how to use bbb.
If you can explain in detail it will a great help.
I do not think that the information as to how long the site has been around may be helpful because even old legit sites are now turning scams. Happy mylotting.
