I am afraid of having lunch or supper by my own. I rather order the supper at restaurant and take the supper at home to eat. Eating outside alone makes me feel lonely and sad. I really want someone stand by myside and always there for me, not only at supper, but also on way way to work. Maybe I am lack of independent and feel unsecure all the time, which how to improve that ones?

I feel bad for people who sit in restaurants and eat by themselves. I'm not necessarily afraid of doing it myself, but I typically have never had to. Call one of your friends the next time you go out to eat. Or cruise the bars and find a guy/girl that you like. Can't hurt to ask someone to eat with you. Everyone has to eat :)

I like having lunch by myself. The only thing that bothers me is when people start to look at me funny for being a loner. I get so conscious of their stares.
Maybe you're not used to eating alone. Some of my friends don't eat if they don't have someone along. How about breaking the habit? Try to eat by yourself. You'll get use to it.

Lunch is usually a very social event. It is a time to be with friends and take a break from the day. I enjoy lunch with company, but there are times i would just like to be by myself. i would also enjoy eating my lunch alone sometimes.

I am perfectly alright eating lunch by myself. Of course I prefer the company of friends, but when I have to eat by myself, I just enjoy my meal. I think a good excuse now not to feel bothered eating alone is to either send text messages or carry a laptop and surf the net.

I do not think it's a big deal, you sit down eat fast and get out. I do not mind eating alone and I do not think you have to either. Enjoy the time you are alone because once you find someone they will drive you crazy. It has nothing to do being unsecured, you just want someone to talk to.

I wouldn't worry about what people think, I would just be concerned with how good the food was. I know that some people have a fear that other people are looking at them with sadness but sometimes I envy the person who doesn't have a person or a couple of kids to deal with while they eat. They also may just need some time to themselves and eating alone gives that to them. Take a book or a magazine to keep your occupied or take a pen and paper and jot down some thoughts or make a list of things you want to do. Use the quiet to listen to your heart.

I pretty much eat one meal a week with other people and the rest of the time I eat alone! I guess I'd get pretty hungry if I was afraid to eat by myself huh? I do like to eat with others, but it's just not happening right now. I don't get out much and I am just now starting to invite people to come to my house.

I'm used to having lunch by myselft. When you get super busy there's no time to wait for someone to have lunch with you, you'll get used to dining out alone. At first, it was awkward, but after a while you don't get bothered by other people staring. It's easier at the fastfood joints because pretty much everyone is in a hurry, so they don't mind you or they're also dining out alone. But if it's a friday or saturday night, better stay out of the fine dining restaurants because you'll feel terribly alone and unwanted.

Hi I really don't mind eating alone. Though there are times when I feel like having a companion to eat with me but I think I've get used to eating alone. There are times when I am in a hurry I also end up taking out the food and eat it at home while watching TV hehehe. I guess when you are used to living a busy life you tend to ignore what other people think if they see you eating alone because every body is busy doing and minding their own business. :D don't feel bad if you are eating alone. There's nothing wrong if you are happy and at ease being with "yourself." Happy mylotting!

The term may not be afraid, but uneasy for me to eat alone. I think it would be a lot enjoyable savoring the food with someone and just enjoy talking about anything under the sun. I can eat alone in a restaurant but I prefer to do it with someone. Sometimes, I usually just take the food home.

really.. well i'm used to eating alone when i was in college. i don't like to depend what im going to eat with others. even now that im working, i just go out and seldom ask my co workers about lunch.
i like taking my time eating what i have on my table. i don't eat fast because i'm with others who might be in a hurry.

To be honest I'm more comfortable eating by myself in a restaurant or even at home, because I like to eat in whichever way I like. I don't like talking to someone while eating and I also hate spending time giving an opinion on certain food for the friend while my own stomach is singing. I also don't like sitting longer at the restaurant after I finished eating and I feel free talking on the phone whenever someone calls while eating.

It's almost lunch time here in the office and you are right. I sometimes feel the fear of having to eat all by myself every time I go work. But I'm getting used to it. I have no friends here so I have to bear with it. But it's a miserable feeling at most times. I miss those friends from previous work I have left. The only time I get to talk is after office hours, I meet up my boyfriend and some groupmates from an organization I belong to.
