As a fulltime mother, i always do the supermarkets for my family. I even budget my time wherever i go. There were also times that i rushed to grocery stores for some items i forgot to buy. But everytime i got into the cashier to pay for my groceries, they always asked me for coins instead of them providing it to customers. I find it onconvenient and time-consuming. Almost all supermarkets and groceries are doing this...even department stores. What's your opinion about this and is there a way for this to be stopped?

I have noticed this also and I can only imagine they are doing this as they probably are short on change and are told to try and ask for the coins from the customers. However I do find it a bit irritating also as if I had the spare coins I would have issued it in the first place.
As it takes time to rummage through my purse to find that I probably will not have enough in coins to be able to issue it, not to mention holding up the line for others who are staring and glaring as to what the hold up is.
