well, i see it as carpets do keep the house warm, as for the laminate and tiles, it is so easy to just clean up off them, carpets downstairs can get so dirty with having dirt on your footwear or dropping food and drink, especially when you have young children, so i feel that something like tiles and laminate are better as they are so quick and easy to clean up.

I have carpet on the second floor and in my room. The rest is laminate and tiles for the kitchen, bathroom and entrance. The easiest to clean by far is laminate, but it was not available here when we built our home.
Happy posting!!!

we have tiles in my house. i like it because it looks so clean esp that the color is a mix of baby pink and white patches. different design i cant describe well. hehe
i easily feel warm so this one is helpful for me because i feel colder with tiles than other stuff.
