Hello there,
that's because there has been a lot more tips that most people give since last year. i don't know about the years when i was not around yet. but i wonder, do we listen to their advices, or just respond to them for the sake of replying to the topic.
Any veterans here knows a few mylotters giving a lot of tips and advices with regards to posting the right way and positive way with out violating the rules of discussion. well, i tried and it got deleted
Memory serves me for now (I think) that Rberon1985 were one of the few who gave great tips about how to earn well with our post."Barging In" was his term i believe. then, some people like lamby, and few veterans (left) that has been part of the group reminding the newbies of the rules of discussion. last time i stop by stines concern about people that creates poll kinds of topics.
In my Opinion some does, most won't.
What are you're views?
Have a nice day.

I don't post a discussion a lot because I don't have much to ask really but I respond a lot with different kind of advices. But I would definitely accept someone's advice if it's for my own good.

Hello kodu,
Yeah, i notice you respond also that much. but i have responded to one of you're discussions, which is pretty understandable since i can related and i don't respond to discussions or topics that much either. well, as long as we are here, options are limitless, right or wrong, it's for us to chose.

I am not quite a veteran but can say that because of my high activity on the site that when I first started on myLot, in fact for the first month in itself I did mostly reading which later I employed the same practices. I have not had many started discussions and can say that out of all just two were deleted.
I am not upset about that one bit as I find that after re-reading the guidelines I can surely understand why they were. Since I am not much of a starter on discussions I can't really say that I have been given tips, but from all the reading I have done on here I feel very secure about advising others.

I can see that you are really a hard working girl and your few months of tenancy in mylot and the huge figures besides your name is self explanatory. You are qualified to be a mentor as you have crisscrossed mylot that earned you much more experiences than some old timers here.

Hello hardworkinggurl,
Well, you're smart enough to be a veteran already, my first impression proves it otherwiseit's good advising others from information that you got from the other users, most specially the oldies. i agree with zandi, you are indeed qualify to be a mentor in this manner.

Must listen to these unofficial mylot advisers. They are experienced lots who took their precious time to share their experiences here especially for those who are new to this site. It doesn't cost us anything reading their advices as their experiences are worthy for many to emulate. I have just given a newbie tips here as he was asking how to get many responses. When I looked at his discussions, he rarely give out his comments but left all his responses to fate. So I told him that his responsibility as an OP doesn't stop after posting the discussion. Commenting has far reaching effects and responders feel happy to see that their responses have been acknowledged and appreciated and definitely will come back again in his future discussions. He did as told and was happy to see that one of his discussions appeared in the top 10 of the hot discussion.

Hello zandi,
wow, that's nice of you to remind this person to comment on all discussions. i think it's gonna be lazy for that responder in terms of replying to a discussion again if the topic starter didn't even bother comment on the responder's message. i know, i get lazy myself when it's not commented. have a great day

Hi Zandi and L.Knight
I think, I am that newbie, Zandi ll recognize me, I started that discussion and I didnot know at that time that it ll be good for me to comment on my responder. I felt very happy when Zandi and my other senior fellows gave me advices and guidelines links, from there I came to know that you can only survive in community if you take part in discussion and then follow that discussion. Following certain discussion in my view is necessary but rarely seen this, althought there are senior members who follow their discussion but other members are not following.
I am glad to be with seniors and happy that I am getting a lot of information through these posts.
Thanks

Hello tonyllenium,
oh, ok. well, some of those advices in mylot are not even close to the guidelines so we should just listen to it. but of course, to see is to believed i think,. have a great day.

I really appreciate fellow-myLotters who share and give tips on how to make myLot experience truly worthwhile especially for newbies like me. Some tips work for me and some tips don't. I think we just have to do some trial and error and be open to explore so as to find the best method that works. I appreciate the reminders regarding the rules because, one does not really absorb the rules just by reading it alone. You master it from doing and from experience.

Hello hippiemom,
well, make sure the error doesn't result in a violation double post. mylot can be slow most of the time. mastering it is a different thing, i have also experience that teaches me to avoid this and that. we should all appreciate the reminders since it's gonna help us avoid the bigger picture of problems some day

Heck yes I take the advice! LOL! It helps so much to get advice from people who literally have nothing to do with the situation. A lot of times it really helps because it can help you see clearly. A good, written response that gives advice in it or comfort are my FAVORITE kind of responses. And as for MyLot advice- I definitely take what I can get. After all, we're a community and we want to make sure that as a community we flourish, not step on each other's toes all the time.

I take and give advice whenever I can, though I have slowed down since I started school, but when I do have free time and see a discussion where I can put my two cents in, I will do it. I do miss lamby, because he was the one who helped me find a link to get this CD, and now I want another and he isn't around to help me..:( (Because this CD in not only hard to find, but the company has to take Paypal...)

Helo carmel,
well, he's till around he's just invisible, it's even harder to find him these days he will be missed, no thanks to those trolls by the way. it's hard when an old friend disappears from something. i am glad you can still give advice in you're spare time. have great time.

I sometimes listen and I sometimes don't. I've always been pretty independent and done what I wanted to pretty much. It might depend on the responder. If I happen to like his/her advice and if they are diplomatic about it, I might try what they suggest. I would rather they suggest such and such instead of telling me what to do. There is a difference. Sometimes if they mean for it to be a suggestion, it doesn't much sound like it. If I should forget what the rules are and I go against one of them, they can remind me about it in a tactful way.

Hello cyrus,
some advices can be wrong and others are not worth listening/reading to. well, most advices i have seen from the oldies or veterans only. well, i don't know about you but i think most people are gonna "listen to you instead of the other way around"thanks a lot for the response and have a great day

I seriously take any mylotter's advice into consideration. I have to decide if the advice is given with genuine and sincere feeling. When that is the case, I am more willing to listen to the advice I'm given. every opinion counts. We have to listen with our hearts even if it is something we choose not to hear.

Hello sender,
well, that's for sure i don't listen if it doesn't feel right. if the discussion is i think offensive on my part then i will just leave it alone.it's not good when we are not used to topics that is way out of line i guess. no body wants to force listen themselves but should be according to what we feel too. thanks and have a great day

People give tips and advice on their experience. Experience is best education. If we listen advice the we can earn those knowledge which is earn by other after long effort. So any advice is very useful to all. Specially newbie can be more benifited from the advice from experienced user.

hello aaleexix,
that's right. trouble is that some can be ignorant in making too much topics or breaking the rules of discussion. i guess experience is the best teacher, if admin teaches them a lesson, then they are toast but if they are pssionate about mylot, they will come back for sure.

Hello hushi,
that's one of the best thing about mylotters. you're not alone and some of them had experience a lot worse than you. when they advice, it gives you the ease of not enduring it so much because other have gone through the same pain. i suggest you continue being here. like the other user said, you are gonna learn a lot more.

Hi
Yes, as a newbie, it is essential for me to listen to the seniors and respond to their advices and valued comments because this is the only way I can survive on myLot. Till now I have found very good comments on my questions which I have in my mind and after receiving those comments, I follow those, and I can see the difference in first day and now. This was only regarding myLot, now the advises we see or receive regarding different question or problem in our day to day life. Actually there are lots of people with different backgrounds and different experiences, every one has his own views about a certain topic or problem, now it is the on the person with the problem, which solution he choose. For me, I ll choose that solution on which most of advisors agree, which is mentioned in almost every post.
So, Yes I am following the comments or advices from seniors...
Have a best day a head....

hello saqi,
that's the best thing i've heard so far from a newbie. but mylot isn't really a torture site so there's no point of being afraid. it's just that the admin is very active and any violation they find, they can have it deleted. don't worry, you will get use to it. well, you should chose the solution best for you. what if the most agreed solution isn't the best for you? you have to choose for you..

Hi and thanks for appreciation
Yes, this thing can happen, because my situation can be different from other due to my culture or practices or any other thing. May be the solution which is considered best by user, is non-acceptable in my society, then at that time I ll search for a suggestion from a person whos suggestion is according to my norms and culture, if still I am unable to any solution which is acceptable in my society then I ll try to get the suggestion from my friends near to me in the same society. But I think this is in very rare cases, mostly we share almost same norms every where in the world, only there are few differences.
And I ll still post my problem to get suggestions from myLotters, because I can get some very good suggestion over here, which could not be in my or my friends mind, over here, as I know, every answer is based on experience and you know there is no alternate for experience...
Be happy and be the cause of happiness for others

hi letranknight I do not really know how many times I have asked some questions in my discussions and had some really great advice and
some really great suggestons. I did act upon some of them, a lot
of times, and felt such thanks for the help. I have tried myself to
help as many here as I found p possible..For a long time I have tried
to save mylot newcomers from getting their discussions deleted. Some really thanked me for suggesting they read all of the guidelines, the rules of discussion and questions and answers. Some really thanked me and others told me in so many words to take a long jump of a short pier.
so much for my good intentions

I do listen to the tips of experienced my lotters as that surely helps me to learn things and improve my performance in my lot :). It also depends on your further as what to take from the person who is sharing tips with you, after all you have your own abilities from which you can make out what tip is required for you and how to use it :). I always make it a point to read all tips and tricks given by experts and experienced people, who knows some tips may come handy for you ;). we humans are always in a learning process and its always better to learn things from people who are experienced in a particular thing or area. Their tips are a better guidance to us and we should definitely take them for our benefit. I don't always blindly take tips but do use my brains to make out what would be better for me :D.
