Which way you write, to earn money or to satisfy your writing instincts

I would like to get paid for my work but I've never submitted anything to anywhere..my MAIN reason for writing is for myself..its something I'm passionate about, it helps me stay balanced mentally (by getting certain things out of my head) and I have always just really enjoyed doing it...IF I were to get paid someday for something I wrote then great but if not thats fine too..HOWEVER I have wanted to (and intend to) and have been asked by off and online friends to right a book of my life experiences...

one genuine question for you. I see a count of 19004 with you. Is it the number of psts made on mylot by you? How much have you earned so far from my lot?

I started writing when I was hired as a re-writer. Before, my reason of writing is to earn but then my articles won't get any views. After a while, I realized it should be written with passion, later on my articles where viewed by people. Now, I write not because of money but to satisfy what I feel.

Sometimes I believe I actually enjoy the research that I do before writing the article more than I like the writing itself. My favorite thing to write about is travel. Sometimes I can study and city and it feels like I have actually been there. I will go to the extent of finding pictures on free sites that match the historical, amusement, or entertainment sites in the article that I am writing. Usually, it is very educational as well. Although, I do hope to one day be able to live on the income from my writing alone. Therefore, I do write for the money as well. I keep earning residuals every month from my articles and that is always a good feeling. There's nothing like money in the bank either. LOL Please share with us gunjanpri what type of writing that you enjoy, and have a wonderful day!

I write for both reasons. However, it's the passion of writing that comes first for me. I would hate to have to write for money if I didn't love it in the first place.

Hello, Gunjanpri. First and foremost, I write for the love of it. However, I also earn well from my writing, so I write for both reasons. I consider myself privileged to be paid well for doing something I love.

Writing is my passion, especially writing poetry. I would love to make a living writing, but will always retain my voice, my writing for my own purposes.

Both. As others have said, I write both because I enjoy it and it's a part of who I am, but I write for money, too. It's a good part of my income, so I feel very lucky to be able to do something I like and get paid for it.

Generally to make money although at tiems i write if I feel the need to express something. I also will write for passion when the inspiration hits.I havent done this for quite some time, although I often used to write when I was younger.

concurrently i write for money most of the time but i have to make it a point that what i write is gratifying. it defeats the purpose when you just write without 'writing with passion'.

Both. Actually someone may take effort to write if the passion is not there, and finding out you can get paid thru writing...why not?

When i write, the thought of earning money for it is always in my mind somewhere. it is not my sole purpose in writing. I write because it is what drives me. I get a lot of joy and satisfaction through the expression of writing. it makes me feel good about myself.

I need to write some days, I can force myself to write for a purpose but generally I only write when I'm in the right frame of mind or whatever I produce is not worth the space it fills!
