Me all my life I thought butter milk would taste bad cause of the way it smells. Well for the first time I tasted it last night and it tasted like sour cream. We buy farm fresh eggs from a lady down the road. She has been trying to sell goats milk too us but never tasted it. So one day we asked her if we could taste it and to my surprise it taste like fresh cows milk. And I love fresh cows milk right out of the cow. I was so surprised. That is why I tasted butter milk. I believe my husband on most things but tasting butter milk was going to take a lot more then his word....LOL
So do you drink butter milk? Have you ever tasted goats milk? Do you try something cause some tells you it taste good? Or are you like me never try anything cause of the smell?

I love the taste of fresh cows milk and goats milk. I never thought I would like the taste of buttermilk till I tried it the other day it taste almost like sour cream. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Chazzief. Buttermilk is great I had never tried it cause I didn't like the smell of it. I have always cooked with it and I love the way it taste in my biscuits and corn bread but never had the courage to taste it. My husband loves it so he was pouring it on his cornbread the other night and I took a bite of it and boy it taste so good. I like goats milk too it seems to be better for you then cows milk. Butter milk taste like sour cream taste but a little better. Try it you might like it.

I have tasted goat's milk before because I learned that there is a lesser chance of being lactose intolerant over goat's milk than cow's milk. I think it also tasted better than cow's milk. The only thing that keeps me from enjoying goat's milk everyday is its price -- it costs twice as much as cow's milk.
I have not tasted buttermilk yet but if it tastes like yogurt maybe I will try it because I love yogurt!

Hi Kodukodu. I am not a real fan of drinking milk either I like it when I drink it. I had never tried goats milk or butter milk either but I have a really good husband and he wanted to try goats milk. Luckily we have a friend that sells eggs and goats milk and we asked her if we could try a taste of the goats milk. It has a better taste to me then cows milk. My husband is always getting me to try new things and I found out I love the taste of goats milk and butter milk. And I have heard that goats milk is better for you. If you like cows milk you will love the taste of goats milk. If you like sour cream you will like butter milk. Try it what have you got to loose and wouldn't it be great to find a new taste that you will like? Thanks for sharing.

Oh, free_man, you've brought back to me sweet memories from my childhood.
When I was a child, I spend some time from my summer holidays at my grantparents, in the country. They had few neighborhs who raised goats and they always provided us fresh goat milk. I enjoyed both fresh milk and buttermilk.
Some evenings my grandparents used to make a campfire and they put the fresh goat milk in a special huge pot near the fire place, to boil it. I remeber we used to eat that hot milk with polenta and I remember I liked it so much!
I'd like to drink some goat milk again, but I don't know a place where I can buy it. But I still drink cow milk every day.

Hi Inu. Sorry for taking so long to respond but never got your reply. Was on here resolving my unresolved discussions and seen it. I remember when I was a small child drinking cow's milk but never tasted goats milk till this lady we buy eggs from. Boy did I miss out on some good tasting milk. Now I buy it from here every time I run out of milk. Thanks for sharing.

I've never tried goat's milk or butter milk, but if it tastes too much like cow's milk I don't think I'd like it... Actually, cow's milk makes my stomach upset, so I drink other kinds of milk instead: mainly soy milk, but also almond milk, hazelnut milk, and kamut (I think that's the correct spelling) milk, which I tried recently and found delicious :)
