The article describes it as a "kung-fu grip" handshake. It's possible that it was meant to deliver pain? I guess since Rand Paul's supporter who stomped on a progressive's head is demanding an apology for the head stomping occurrence, as her head attacked the sole of his shoe over and over again and it hurt is back, its a sign that anything goes.

I understand that, but to be honest, being a woman I would be ashamed to even bring it up.

i think it probably was, but squeezing somebody's hand too hard is not assault unless you are astonishingly strong. some people even shake too 'firmly' without realising, although i doubt that is what happened here.

Hiya laglen, Well I have quite a firm handshake with most People so I will have to watch what I am doing the next time. I´ll have to make a softer grip perhaps. Did not know that it could be called that a form of battery. Or even regarded as a form of violence. Wow I will have to stop shaking Hands hugging my relatives the lot.

Hiya laglen, Okay maybe a little Wink would work. Not a big wink just a little one so I don´t make them feel uneasy? Could that be the Word. Could it be a Nod is as good as a Wink then in these Cases? Not really sure about a big smile because then they might think that you are planning something for them or about them. Well I give up a little wink then I will try that.

of course it is.but now as we live in the days of somebody suing a 4 year old child for riding on the sidewalk,i'm not surprised. it's almost to the point where i don't even want to deal with people in a public level at all anymore, because god knows what they're going to decide is offensive and suitworthy.

This is brave, new America! The land where tag is out, lemonade stands force 7 year olds to become evil businesspeople, dodgeball will require a lifetime of therapy, competitiveness breeds competitors and goes against the grain of a loving and givin society where everyone is equal save the equalizers, and flesh and bone are so incredibly weak from the BS that a mere handshake is now crippling. I can only imagine the result of a hug. Even one of those I-still-love-you-Johnny-even-though-you-hate-me-and-kill-cats-and-steal-from-me-and-tried-to-kill-your-sister, heal-'em-with-kindness hugs would cripple a weak sissy in brave, new America.

At face-value this sounds ridiculous. The article is brief and does not mention any "political leanings" of either candidate; I wonder if that's relevant.

Yup, America is quickly deteriorating and falling into a complete police state. They are being very strict even for things like bringing even a butter knife to school and suspending kids for that which is outright insane.I really think that America is doomed and in another few years a one world government could be formed and enslave the entire planet.Just just visit info wars on the web and see for yourself at what is happening to our once great nation.

A little to far but, as a person that suffers from a joint disorder a firm hand shake can hurt a lot and I avoid them unless it's something to do with business.

ok, he probably did mean to hurt but unless he somehow managed to break a few fingers then this is just silly.

People have been shaking hands in greeting for years. how can a handshake be considered a form of battery now? I think that is reaching a bit now.
