Does you have to befriend a girl before trying to start a relationship?

There is a girl whom you met recently and you two are not yet friends, maybe just acquaintances. If you would like to begin a relationship with her, then would you try to become good friends with her first or try to win her heart right away? If, for some reason, it is difficult to have a normal friendship with the girl, then would you still try to woo her? I think it is important to have a normal friendship before getting into a serious relationship. Not all girls may be willing to start a relationship without knowing you for sometime. It will be nice to know the views from both sexes on this matter.

you don't actually have to but I think it's 90% better, cause there are a lot of relationships that start by people wanting something from one another, now by being friends what happens is love and both parts care about each other so the chances are better. i only dated friends, and it was always great.

That's one way but if you are really serious in pursuing her then i guess its better to just say it ASAP. She might think that you just wanna be friends if you beat around the bush for too long. And of course there's competition.

The best of relationships often start out as only friendships. Starting a friendship with someone is the best way to get to know them. If something else develops between you, it can only enrich your life.

I think its important to start a friendship first if your looking to get into a serious relationship with the girl. Theres also many benifets to being friends with her as well. You get to know her better learn things that she likes which is good for if you guys start a relationship, but the best benifet is that if for some reason the relationship doesn't work out you might have the option of going back to being just friends with the girl.
