Does surfing PTC sites puts your computer at risk?

I have been doing PTC sites for almost a year and there are times that my computer gets affected with trojans and viruses. Is it possible that I get it from the PTC sites or advertisements that I view?

Viruses are a small part of it. The spyware is the killer and will slow down your computer to a crawl.

I'm not very familiar with the spyware and what it does. Is it the one that prompts you to download or save into your computer?

It saves what you type in your pc and send it back to the hacker, and so he can get your emails and passwords. there are a lot of spywares, but the most part of then it is downloaded and it start to run in your system, but there are a new one that run on java that run from the internet. all the care is the best.
