I see people who both love and hate the idea of being single. personally I think being single right now is good for me, but at the same time i'm not happy being single. I was wondering what are your views on the idea of being single?

my single if you mean lonely then i hate the idea of it, or if you mean a bachelor, then i am with idea. being bachelor gives to freedom, no tensions with opp and your are individual and you can promote you own idea. although you can't stay like it for long time, but right now i prefer as bachelor for a while, its enjoy our life before facing world troubles.....

I'm perfectly cool with being single. I'm way too set in my ways to want to compromise on a regular basis for someone else, and that's one of the things needed for a good relationship. Plus, at the end of the day, I've always liked to shut out the world. Just those few hours before bedtime are me time. But, you can't have that - at least not to the extreme I like- if when you get home, it's one you share with someone else. Nope, single suits me fine.

What makes you unhappy of being one ? If your not happy with your state right now, maybe its time for you to settle with a partner or is there something else that you wish to accomplish ?
I am married and very happy with it, I have enjoyed a single life with satisfaction and has come to make a choice of ending that, but things does not need to be rushed. Only when you meet the "right" person for you then you can find satisfaction and happiness on the path that you've chosen.

Being single is not always the footloose and fancy free lifestyle that others imagine it to be. Sure the single person can pretty much do as they please and not have to be concerned about compromising with a mate or worrying about the feelings of someone else. But the down side is not always worth that trade off in the single person's mind. Holidays can be one of the harder times a single person is faced with. Couples and families can be seen almost everywhere. Holidays seem to bring out the best in many of us. We are happier, more loving and affectionate. When a single person sees this type of interaction going on all around it may make them feel more alone and wonder what they are missing out on.

I love being single.
I can do what I want when I want to.
But there is a trick to it.
You need to like your own company, and you need to be creative and imaginative in order to occupy your time with various hobbies. Otherwise it quickly become a lonely life. It is also good to have a pet when you are single.

For the time being, most of people are enjoying to be single.
When those singles are older, then I am sure most of them will feel very lonely.
In our life, I believe we have to go through few different stages.
Live as single is one of the stages we have to go through in our life.
We are not supposed to stop at any of the stages.
Can we always be a baby? Can we always be a teenager?
Our living style is changed when we grow. Then only we do feel boring at all.
