Hi Friends, I am a 20 yr old male. From the age of 16 i started to get severe acne on my face. I have tried natural home remedies like lemon juice applied topically, egg white mask, honey etc, nothing worked for me. After that i took an appoinment to a dermatologist, he prescribed me azythromycin. It worked out for a while and then the acne came back even worse. The next time i had an appointment and my derm prescribed me antibiotics like doxycycline + benzoyl peroxide + clyndamycin to be applied topically, made my skin prone to sunburn and ultra sensitive. It also dint worked for me. Atlast he prescribed me with accutane on which i had many hopes. To my luck that dint work, made my complexion even worse with very shiny skin (Like a mirror). People ask me to wipe of the oil from my skin, but actually there is no oil and my skin is ultra dry ! HELP ME

You might want to visit a dermatologist. But before that, make sure that he/she is a good one. And if the dermatologist prescribes a treatment, make sure you're not using it with another type of medicine coz it might counter the effect. Plus it takes some patience and waiting to see the results. :-)

If you really are serious on removing your acne it should begin with healing your blood by purifying it. I guess you have hormonal imbalance as well as your oil production is so hyper that no matter what you apply, it still gets in there that no anti biotic can do.
There is only one trusted treatment I can suggest you which is a traditional Chinese medicine from Tiens called Cordyceps and take Antilepemic tea to clean and strengthen your internal organs.
You have an obvious imbalance in your kidney which makes your blood dirty and keeps you from getting those annoying pimples. Detoxification is also needed here but you need doctors prescription which can enable you to cleanse yourself internally. Again, just don't take my word for it, consult your physician first.

I can certainly sympathize with your plight. My teen son is going through the same dilemma at home. I hope you can find something that works well for you. right now my son is trying everything on the market. He has found that a lot of store brands gave little comfort.

I am sorry for you. I suffered from bad acne when I was a teen and I understand your distress. I know it is not much help now , but it will improve as you age and usually people with bad acne early in life will end up with younger looking skin later in life.
Have you tried tea tree oil? Its what my son uses and it seems to work well. Tea tree oil does really dry up the skin though so a light moisturizer should be sued too.
The best suggestion I can make is to be sure to wash your face several times a day, avoid greasy foods and try wearing organic make up if possible as the crap in nomal make up could be aggrivating the problem (I'm assuming you wear make up)
Try not to stress too much about it (I know easier said than done). Stress also adds to acne.
Good luck, I hope you can find something that helps.

hello! if the medicines your dermatologist prescribed didn't work, you may want to check your lifestyle and the food you eat. acne are sometimes caused by unhealthy diet. Also make sure you wash your face regularly and maintain it clean. you may want to try cetaphil. it worked for me. :)

This is a problem from which most of adolescent suffer, it is normal in this age, in my opinion instead of trying different remedies go to your dermatalogist and be the patient of only one derma instead of going to different, the problems appears to be sever when you go to different derma for same problem and every one has his own prescription, my suggestion would be not to try different remedies, just go to one derma and stick to him only...
Be happy and be the cause of happiness for others...

Hello,
You really done a lot of things and remedies with your acne and all is in vain.
Why not try the alternatives.
Like detoxifying and flushing out toxins.
You can asks some alternative doctors or some people who are working or selling food supplements.
But you can also do it yourself with a little patience and determination.
My sister is also has same problem like yours, and she resort to flushing.
What she did is control the food intake and drink a lot of water.
She did not eat meat for a week.
She only have fruits in the morning and small amount or rice and fish in lunch and again fruits in the evening.
She did this for a week and see some good result.
Then she keeps the process for a month and now her face is free from acne.
But then again, each individual differs from one another.
your case can be the same with my sister or different.
But you can try if you want.
Now she is into some strict fruit diet, becoz she loves it.
Her skin is even glowing young,so she keeps the healthy diet with fruits and vegetables.
Have a good weekend

I think I already post a respond about acne. Acne is amongst the most painful parts of adolescence. Acne effects not just the skin, but your self esteem too. New medications and products are now available that enable most common acne conditions to be minimized. Consulting with a dermatologist is usually a good idea for any skin condition. Those spots that break out on your teenager's skin are probably acne, but there are other skin conditions that look like acne. Consulting with a dermatologist will give you a definite diagnosis, and also offer you the widest variety of treatment options available.

Acne is the worst I have been suffering with it for quite some time I have not been able to find a cure yet and my mom is thinking of taking me to the dermatalogist to get some help because it is really bad. I hate how acne really gets in my way it has always had a horrible affect on me like it has lowered my self esteem ever since I got it my self esteem just went down and it used to be high before. Why can't a scientist make the ultimate cure for acne so that nobody has to suffer with it I think that would be so awesome and people would be a lot happier I know I would.
All we can do is keep hoping that we will all one day find our cure for our acne because everybodys skin is different nobody has the same skin type maybe that's why it's so hard to find a cure for acne because there is so many types that it is almost impossible. Still one day we will all find the cure and be acne free. Good luck I hope you find a cure soon.
