I was just thinking about what others really mean by these words.

It's just like the reverse of how will you able to love others, if you do not know how love yourself? Everything starts within ourselves. If you know and accept yourself unconditionally, then eventually it will be reflected on how you treat others.

Loving oneself for me is very important. You should love yourself first, because loving others may cause you pain and might break your heart into pieces. This happens when loving even family, friends and anyone else. If you love yourself, this will help you much in overcoming the pain which you might encounter from loving other.

You have to have love for yourself before you can share your love with another person. You can't share the feeling with others if you can't experience it for yourself.

If you do not love yourself, you have a hole inside you, and you are seeking other people to fill it. You will never be content in your relationship, and will always be blaming the other person for not "giving enough" or not paying enough attention, not loving you enough...and you will feel like it is their fault, but really they are trying their best to fill a hole that only you can fill. Although being in love and having a stable relationship can make you happy, it should not be the only thing that does. You must fill up your hole by yourself first, then you will be a complete person who can give and take with another in a relationship without being too needy.
