do you know about kitten poo habit myth?

for semi-wild cat's owner our cats throw they poo on the outside our house by dig in the soil and put it, then they close it with soil too. but if they have a kitten, "poo habit" can not doing by kitten like their parent. the kitten will throw they poo every where they want, and that is disgusting. On my culture, we have some myth about it, try to measuring the kitten tail with something that can measure it, then plugs it on the soil of outside our house. believed or not, the kitten will throw their poo on the "things" that we plug on the soil. maybe it's hard to believed, but It's work for me, do you ever practice this method too? what about your opinion about this method?
