What makes or caused someone to get revenge? One reason is because of a certain moment that said person have done something that caused you pain or lead your life ruined.
William Lynch,43 was arrested for assaulting Rev. Jerold Lindner, 65 infront of many shocked witnesses. The story behind the assault was due to a prior molestation by the priest to Lynch. Yes, Lynch revealed that the priest had molester him and his brother when they were 7 and 5 respectively. He said that he was having nightmares of the past and that due to that incident, his life was ruined.

hello maean!
Lynch maybe felt that avenging for the misdeeds done to him before, can erase the nightmares of his past. Maybe he thought it would end his misery, did it really end? That's only for him to know.
Hatred is something that would do more bad to the one keeping it than to the recipient of it. Revenge would tantamount to it, for you would not avenge something if you are not keeping in bottled up feelings of anger, resentment, hatred for someone.
i really hope that by his revenge, he was able to erase all the hurts of his past. For if not, he had not achieved anything except maybe earned the wrath and scorn of many who had witnessed what he had done.

Will Lynch had been carrying the burden perhaps for many years and he never got justice to it because the priest was a free man and even preaching without other knowing that incident. I just hope that he had forgive the priest after that. That only frees him from it.

Actually his acts of avenging his dignity is reasonable for him but is bad for the others who saw him because he might only be judged by his acts but it's better for him because he didn't keep it for the rest of his life.

Hi Maean,
I saw that story on the news. While I think he handled the situation wrong, I can't possibly judge this man. I can only imagine what sort of pain this man has suffered as a result of the abuse inflicted on him. Its easy to say how we "should" handle such a situation when we haven't experienced it. He suffered great emotional damage so obviously was not in his right mind and that should be taken into consideration.
