I have a friend who falls into this category, legally they are now considered female and i am bound by law to refer to them as a female, but i know the truth, anyone taking a close look would see it. do you think society will ever be fully accepting of these people who consider themselves born the wrong gender?

Unfortunately,in this world there will always be prejudices and hatred for all types of people who are diffrent from mainstreasm society. No one should be hated or made fun of due to thier own choices or beliefs, except when they are harmful or damaging to others. your friends "choice" to do with his own body waht he wishes really does no harm to anyone else. the best you can do as his friend is accept him for who he is to you, regardless of his choice to be different.

this is very difficult for friends who try and do the transition. it can feel like you have lost a friend and been presented with a different person and expected to behave in a way you would not behave to a new friend. it's difficult to articulate. sorry for the slightly jumbled try.

in my eyes it doesnt matter to me, and in some cultures they are respected, or exploited. it depends how well they pull it off. If someone is a really ruff and scruffy looking the person isnt going to get respect (aparently) so if the person scrubs up nicely then they wont get funny looks. And that is with all humanity man, woman, boygirl, girlboy.
I personally like to play games like when i wear a suit, people who beg ask for money and think i am rich. But if i dress ruff they dont annoy me, but the rich looking people give me very funny looks.
People are just people and the way people are look and act shouldnt be anyones buisness. well with in the laws though

I say yes. I do hear some guys say they want to know if the woman they are with are natural female or artificial female. Transgender does affect other people. It is easier for a society to accept any group when they know more about the group. I say people aren't born in the wrong gender but more of prefer to be the other gender instead. I hope those who accept transgender or are transgender accept other people as well like those who want to be a reptile because they feel they are born the wrong species. Then there are others who don't change their appearance but do want a relationship with someone where the other person agrees to be with them even though it is considered taboo.

Society has the habit of placing individuals in groups where they think they belong. I don't the transgenders of this world ill be as fully accepted as they have the right to be. We should accept people for who they are and not what we think they should be.
