Ok so about 2 months ago my fiance brought home a puppy from the pound and he is as cute as can be! They said he was a lab mix but I'm sorry shelter people there is NOTHING Lab about him! I think he is a pitbull/boxer mix. He is a fiesty little guy and a pain in my butt sometimes, but he is still adorable! Yes, Jack(my puppy) is a fiesty little guy, but such a mamas boy! When its time for bed he hates being put in his kennel and ends up sleeping in the bed with us. He will come up and snuggle up to me and just pass out and sleep there all night. He usually ends up laying on his back with all fours straight up in the air like hes playing dead lol. Does anyone elses puppy cuddle with them?

Lol, so cute. I know my 6lb 3 year old Yorkie cross does the same thing. She is a snuggler and loves to have her under arms scratched, her belly rubbed and her whole body massaged. She is one very pampered dog, let me tell you. Your dog doesn't look lab but does look pit bull or of the sort. Can I suggest some foresight however. It may be very cute right now while he is a puppy but that dog in the picture to well grown to be over 100 pounds. It wont be so cute to have him up in bed with you's when he is full grown. Often ppl make this mistake with the dog when it is a cute cuddly pup, then when it is full grown and is no longer allowed to sleep in the same bed as you, they get confused and feeling hurt. I would never put my dog in a kennel to sleep and is only because she is a rescue and I promised her, no more crates. I tried to have her sleep on her own when I first got her and she would but as soon as I started to wake and moved the first toe she was there like a bullet wanting up onto my bed to snuggle. Belly ribs to be exact. This is no dumb dog. I battled with having her sleep with me or not. She will not grow to be more than the 6 pounds she is, she doesn't shed and doesn't have fleas or any bugs. Personally I can not foresee there ever being a problem. My bed is her bed forever more. If I owned a dog who shed or was more than ten pounds, the dog would not be allowed on the bed right from the get go. I would instead get down to it;s level as a puppy in it's nice soft, cushy bed I would have already prepared for it, place in a quiet, safe and warm corner of a common room. I would rubs, scratch and snuggle with the dog on it's own level, not on my bed. Only because I would have the foresight that in three years that dog is going to be a hundred pound animal. Better to train it as a pup than confuse it when it is full grown and suddenly is not allowed to sleep with you anymore because he is too big and doesn't even smell like a cute puppy any more. Ah quite the contrary. Perhaps get the dog a toy that is soft and a fair size that he can learn to love. Let the dog have that in his bed (not crate).I would think that the toy would make him not feel as alone. Perhpas put his bed next to yours or in an area of your bedroom so he can still be in the same room. This could be a problem though because naturally he is still going to want to sleep with you. I would just think twice about him sleeping with you now. It's like as a pup the dog is allowed on the couch but once he is full grown and 100 pounds or more, you may not want him on the furniture. Same thing. Don't allow it as a puppy. Instill the correct behavior as a pup so to cease having to break his heart as an adult.

That is a bonus for you then ceecee, happy for you. I know my little dog wont stay cuddling all night. As soon as she detects I am falling asleep, she gets up and moves to a perimeter that, I guess she feels is safe, should I move in the night. Perhaps she has had past experiences. That is awesome that you don't mind the bigger dogs in bed with you. Lucky for your new dog too. Sweet!

I have had several pitbulls in my life, a full blooded lab, boxer/great dane and other large mixed breed dogs, i even had a teacup chihuahua.I know exactly how big a pitbull gets and everyone that I have had has slept in the bed with me. I don't mind it at all. I prefer large dogs quite frankly. I had my teacup and she actually hated to cuddle and would jump off the bed(which was high by the way) and go sleep in the dirty clothes pile or basket. Every large dog that I have had has slept in my bed and I loved it. To each his/her own though, some don't mind it and some don't like it. But I love my big dogs and love to cuddle with them just like they love to cuddle with me. :o)

I dont have a dog. We muslim are forbid to have or do nything with dogs. But I have a cat, Her name is Mastura. I think it's the same since a pet is the same as any, right. Mastura is a lovable creature, she will cuddle between me and the misus everynight. but when she is not sleeping she like to play around my leg. It is sometime dificult even to walk with her always around your leg. But the children love her and she is domesticated kind of. So love your pet or pets and it will do the same to you. that is what I feel.

I know what you mean. I have had several cats and they were all playful and liked to cuddle by my feet or in between my legs.

does they bit nibble at you playfully? Mastura likes to do that. It is not painful, and some times its tickles.

I have three Chihuahuas, and all three of them love to cuddle and give kisses. They sleep in the bed with me, and they snuggle up to me at night. We keep each other warm LOL

Binne sleeping on my pillow - When I'm bussy with house work, Binne likes to cuddle on my pillow. Now that she's ten months old she's bigger than the pillow, but she still cuddles between the pillows.
I saw the picture of Jack before reading your post, and I wondered why would anybody say it's a Lab mix, because he has nothing from a Labrador. I think all dogs like to cuddle. My dog, Binne, didn't like to sleep in her crate at all. She chosed to sleep in her armchair from her day one in our house. But when I'm bussy with house work, she likes to cuddle on my pillow. Here's a picture of Binne sleeping on my pillow. She was only 2 months old back then.

Very cute! Jack likes to cuddle up on my pillow too. Half the time I have to move him out of the way so I can have some lol. And if he is in the bed before me and my fiance he is sprawled out in the middle of the bed. I call him my little bed hog! :o)
