I'm in the U.S. and right now we are only a few days away from midterm elections. And the mud slinging and dirt dishing is at its peak. And I am soooo sick of it that I'm considering voting for the candidates who have engaged in the least amount of negative campaigning.
We are being deluged with political ads on TV, radio, newspapers, and phone calls! I mean, at our house we are getting at least 6 calls a day that are simply prerecorded messages about who to vote for and who NOT to vote for. I'm getting so that I don't answer the phone anymore, and just let the answering machine handle it. And if it turns out to be someone we know and want to talk to, we can always call them back right away.
In any case, I really am tired of all the negative ads. Why can't political candidates just advertise themselves and explain their platforms without bashing the other candidates?
Do you think that negative campaigning is really effective? Wouldn't it be nice to see only positive political ads? I'd think I'm dreaming if that ever happened!

I agree w/everything u said. I have been sick of the mud-slining for a long time.Times sure have changed. People didn't use to do this & i'm sorry they started. I would like to think it's over with today but don't think it ever will be.
