today with the increasing need of travel we spend most of the time on road or in air. so how do you connect with your peers, what type of gadgets you use to remain in touch with your loved ones. does it makes any difference to your friends or family that you are constantly on move but you are making an ample use of technology and stay connected.. what type of roaming you use.....

I do not keep connected. I learnt that if I am travelling by holiday and I am in France, and my friends are in London, I need to live in France, hence, unless needed, I do not keep much contact with London, because than my mind would be living in London, not in France.

Oh no, I am not in France and I am not from London. I was only describing a hypothetical situtation. I've been through this myself, but the cities and countries were different. :P.

When I began traveling I was a teenager. I used to stay in contact with expensive telephone calls and letters that took days or weeks to get to my home country. At best a letter from Australia to England in those days to one week. By sea a parcel took 6 to 8 weeks. Last year I sent ten postcards from South Africa but nobody got their postcard. It would seem to me that the postal service in South Africa isn't very reliable. These days with modern technology available I can use my mobile phone to send text messages. This summer when I traveled to Vancouver I used my net book and it worked well. It is a small lightweight type of laptop. Thankfully phoning popular countries is more economical these days.

yes you may get different plans according to your need and the time you are going to be stay there. prepaid cards helped a lot plus facility such as international roaming helps a lot..
