I used YM most of the time it's awesome because you can now talk and at the same time you can see who you talking too.. everybody can join and it's easy to use.
connection is great but sometimes the network is not working specially when i used for others country like philippines but most of the time connection is great!!!

i use YM too, its such a user-friendly...you are right with everything you wrote plus its FREE

I use to use YM all the time and I agree, its awesome. Free and easy to use.
