It's a polymer clay that when you bake it it hardens and becomes plastic. I haven't used it yet but I'm going to explore this thing because from the videos I found on YouTube from Vinyl toy artists they bake them and customize their toy with sculpey. Pretty cool stuff. So if you have tried the sculpey, how was it? Does it stink? Here is an example of a vinyl toy artist customizing the vinyl toy by his own style: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LR94eUiSlns Here's a Hulk sculpture video using sculpey: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XgcGopsEMKA&feature=fvst

I don't really have much experience with Sculpey, I only used it once to make a pair of earrings for a friend, but I've seen people make very cool stuff with it! I'd like to try doing more things, but you need to have an oven to be able to bake it, and the oven I have at home is kinda old and not working that properly anymore, so it's a little hard to bake Sculpey properly :( (when I made those earrings it took many times to get them right, since they got all burnt many times)

I have an electric conventional oven. I can control the temperature so hopefully it'll be easy when it comes to baking them.

Hopefully indeed! :) Since my oven wasn't working that properly I tried using the microwave instead, but it didn't work out that well, hehe.

I love Sculpey, but I haven't used it in years! I used to work for an art supply store in college and we had some great employee discounts, so I'd buy some every now and then. I love looking through those books with what you can do with it - fun stuff - particularly animal creatures! Fresh sculpey feels so neat in your hands - and smooth! I don't think it stinks - but I thought Play Doh did!

I've used it sparingly. It bonds to itself very well and doesn't get hard until you bake it. I enjoyed making mini-sculptures out of it, but never did anything serious. I've never tried putting on plastic. Sounds like an interesting idea, though.
