I now do not have to try to remember to take money out with me each time that i visit a doctor,as i now get all my nhs things that i need free, where as it was costing me loads of money every single week.Thankfully my dr told me what form i needed aswell as how to word the things that the form needed answered, now it is a whole year that i do not have to worry about how much my health is costing me.

That is wonderful. I do not take some meds that I need for my asthma (preventative) because I can't afford the $80 a month. I have my emergency inhaler that costs about $40 and that's it. The pills I need for my hormone imbalance cost about $25 a month, which is brutal when our rent is around 50% of our low income!

I'm sure that's a great help in these tough times. That was great of your doctor to help you out with some information, he obviously cares about you. But I thought that medical care was free in the UK?
I don't mind my taxes going to help pay for people who have a hard time affording their prescriptions. It's the sluggards that are too lazy to work that I mind helping. Although, nowadays in the U.S., there are plenty of able-bodied people who aren't working simply because there are no jobs.

I do feel thankful that i can now get my pills every month for free,as it was costing me loads of money especially when they kept changing my pills all of the time.I am soo pleased that here in the UK we have not got to pay an insurance or to see drs, also all the treatment that people get charged.

Glad to hear!
At the moment I'm receiving help for my prescriptions (depression tablets) as my work place is making cuts and my hours have been cut back recently. It's nice to be able to have these things available, as the cost would be to dare and I wouldn't want to pay almost £10 for something that makes me feel like a numb person just because I worry about things. I'm fine when people help, including my work place but I should never of told my boss that I suffered from this.

I think that depression is nothing to be embarressed about,as i know that a few of my friends suffer from it as well as a member of my family as well as they have anxiety problems.I am soo pleased that i could get all of my money back from the pills that i had paid for,as well as not having to pay for any more pills as they are forever giving me more pills.

GREAT news! I'm glad to hear that! The only thing doctorish I've done all year was get a flu shot back in early Oct. No visits, no scrips! no nothing! That's the way I like it!
I can honestly say I have not missed anything less than that darn gall bladder I had yanked in 2008!

good for you jugs, and what a great doctor you have as well. here in the philippines there are also programs that give a patient free prescriptions and also a big percentage less specially if you are a senior citizen... well of course provided with the identification card. my mother is not yet a senior citizen but she is now on free therapy up to december. january we need to pay for it already.

With the economy the way that it has been, there really isn't a whole lot more that you could ask for. I know this year has been very difficult for us because we've had an extraordinary amount of medical bills that we've had to deal with between my husband's kidney stones and now the chronic pain that he has been experiencing in his back. The only thing that I wish for now is that they could find a way to control his pain.

I have been paying out for loads of pills, some of them they have had to change some of them they had to increase,it was costing me £7.20 per med i needed, which there were loads in a month that i needed.Thankfully i have free meds now,so that will be alot less to worry about. As for pain and trying to find something that works,i know what you are going through, as i am having the same problem.

My Flovent, which is my main Asthma medication cost me $105 for a 3 months supply, that is a lot for someone on a budget of $2300. I also have to pay close to $500 a month for health insurance. It's nuts!

The reason that i get free meds now is that i am taking loads of pills that i have to have, also i am under lots of clinics at the hospital as well.I know that with all the pills that they were giving me and then having to change them all of the time there would come a time when i would not be able to keep parting with money anymore for my health. So my dr sorted out a form and sorted out me getting free prescriptions.Im in the UK by the way.

I am on medicare and get a RX part of that that I pay like $4.00 for a year. It is great. If I get generic brand of medication I pay $2.40 for a 30 day supply. If it is a name brand I pay $6.00 I think for a 30 day supply. I was given the choice of companies and told how much each would be what options they provided. It is really nice and I hope it never changes.

We got them free last year, but what with my husbands wages gone up,we do not qualify for them through child tax.Thankfully my doctor told me what form i needed as well as helped me sort it so that i could get free prescriptions,as i have to get a job lot every month and with all the clinics that i am now under they are for ever changing the pills.I also got all my money back what i had paid from all the pills that i got when i was paying for them,so i have loads of money come back.

That is one great news. As they say, health is wealth, and it really is because maintaining health can be that expensive nowadays especially doctor's consultation and medicines. So it's nice you avail of that free prescription...be healthy. =)

Good that you are now getting free health care.
Health when it deteriorates will really make a toll on your pocket. What will all those high priced treatments and medicines. Furthermore, should you need to be hospitalized it will really cost a lot.
How were you able to get a free health care anyway?

It had been costing me loads of money each week and at the end of the month i was having to stock up on even more pills that i needed.I am in the UK, so as i could not get a free helping hand as my income was slightly higher to claim through the system my dr knew that i could get it through health reasons and he delt with the form for me.

That's great..I'm glad for you. There are so many programs out there to help people with medical things, but we don't hear about them, you just have to ask around, ask your doctors, nurses, pharmacists, they probably know of some. I'm glad to hear that, you deserve it...

I am so glad to hear that you don't have to pay for prescriptions anymore. I don't have to pay for my meds either, which is a good thing because they would cost over 500.00 a month (if not more). I am on the medicaid temporarily because I am not working and my husband is self-employed, so insurance isn't offered to him. I am grateful for the savings and I am hoping it will last a while.

It sounds great! It's said that there are two things could make people lose all he has overnight in capitalist society, one is the stock market, and the other one is medical treatment. Perhaps you know that it also apply to China, however,we have the Basic Social Medical Insurance!By the way, exercise is good for health!

That is truly wonderful. I am so happy I qualify for Medicaid, which makes prescriptions $3.30 each. It used to be 0 dollars, but for some reason I have to pay now. Anyway, the last time I got it filled the cost without insurance would have been around 1000 dollars. That's just ridiculous.

I have loads of health issues that i have to take pills for and it was costing me loads of money per month to get all the pills that i needed.I have also got all of the money back that i had paid out on pills in the last month as well so that was also a great big bonus.
