Okay MyLotters, let's get serious about this election, but keep it level headed. The way I see things, the basic difference between the Tea Party, the Republican Party, and the Democratic Party, is that the Tea Party favors small government that is controlled by the people, whereas the Republican and Democratic Parties favor a large government that controls the people. This election will see a major change in America, one way or the other, but which is best, large or small government?

I think that small or large is not the key, rather, the government should be of a purpose to assist its citizens in their lives. A simple concept made complex by outside interest groups, money, political competition, etc. We've a long way to go before the country becomes responsive to the needs of its people. Each of the parties have something to offer but they seem to be in a macho game, each trying to prove whose is bigger. We keep electing politicians instead of statesmen, so basically, it's our fault.
When we elect people who give tax breaks to wealthy people who don't need them, who still aren't sure that Civil Rights wasn't the right way to go, when we have at least one party which prizes anti-intellectuals, tolerate politicians who use dishonesty in their campaigns, give tax credits to companies who make billions in profits and pay no taxes, we deserve what we get.
