How to leave leave a good impression on your new customers ?

I engage in the line of packing machinery and I am a foreign trader. I am confused about how to leave a good impression on my customers when I write developing letters to them at first time. Do you have any good suggestions or good ideas to share with me?

Send them greeting cards and small gifts. It's called "appreciation marketing" and really helps towards becoming preferred.
