I was on my way to the hospital today and I bumped on an old classmate from high school. I forgot her name. We talked for about an hour still, I can't remember it. Then she took out her wallet and I saw her nickname. Good thing she didn't realize I had a hard time recalling!
Did you experience the same thing?

after 10 years of school days,i met my classmate and i didnt remember him,as he got many changes in his face and structure. he only remembered me and talked with me and he has taken me to his shop, which he has opened ,which was near the place we met.he offered me water, juice etc. after 10years also,he is in that place and i was in different place and went to that place for other friend's marriage. recalling him was fun for me and after he told i realised him as he has sister and i(i am lady) has brother ,which all of are same class and so i remembered him on this basis,as his sister is too familiar and good friend for me in school days. that day when i met him,my marriage is over and his sister has also got married. after my marriage, i met him and his sister for first time and all of us(4 of us) was very happy and enjoyed that day more with going out for dinner.

LOL. I experienced the same thing. I met him on the street then he said Hi to me. I was staring at him 'cause I don't recognize him. After 5 seconds, he told me his name. We laughed so hard. People were looking at us. He changed so much.
Thanks for sharing!

I have the same problem so many times. I'm a person who hard to remember poeple's name and face. Sometimes I met someone, I know that he/she is my friend but I don't remember the name, and sometimes when someone talk about a friend, I remember their name but I already forget how is he/she look like. I even forget my relative's names and thats so horrible.
I got real troublesome when I have reunion with my high school a year ago. And guess what, I forget most of their names hahaha XD XD.
Fortunately, I still remember some friends so I addressed them first. Then I whisper to them, asking others name so I won't make a mistake when calling them :P
After that reunion, we collect our email and facebook account so we can recall all of friend's names and faces and keep in touch each other.

Good thing you have friends with you. Yeah, Facebook has been a personalize yearbook. But I don't add high school and elementary friends there. I only add my college friends. I don't know why. Maybe I have a bad experience before that I want to escape from it.

I am very bad with names also but faces I can get right away. I have tried a system which works pretty good with me. I try and think of that name as someone I know from a TV show or a movie or just some famous person. I do sometimes even tell the person how I am remembering there name and if I give them a movie star name the kind of like it.

Oh yeah, that happened to me many times too. As we get older, we lose memory. And, for me, the names are the ones I lose memory most, friends, places, books, authors, and so on. I could still remember about discussions and things we talked about , but when it comes to names, I get totally at a loss often. I just don't know why !

To be frank, I am the type of person who has troubles remembering names too, especially more so if it's a person whom I seldom meet or haven't met for a long time. Normally, if I don't recognize someone, I admit it there and then so there is no awkwardness or pretense while communicating with each other. But to be honest, I would definitely prefer my name being forgotten than for someone to call me a wrong name (which has happened quite a few times already! ). I vividly recall once I got called a wrong name by a customer and I got teased by my colleagues so badly.....

yes.. many times.. hahaha.. i have bad memory when it comes to remembering names. that's why sometimes i don't ask names during first meeting, i won't remember it anyway.. i just smile and make a polite exit so i wont mess up or insult the person.

Yes,this happens to me with one friend.
Maybe because we are not that close, but she an old friend though.
One day we met at the mall (after years of separation, they moved to other place)
We we're talking and i can't recall her name, suddenly my son came and called out "auntie Sonia"
What a laugh,(i laugh at myself) my son remember her name (uh,good thing)
Sometimes i feel stupid when i can't remember names.
Have a good day always

I have had that experience before. I could remember the classmates last name, but not the first name. It was embarrassing, but he had no clue I couldn't remember who he was. he carried on a conversation like we were back in high school. After that incident I went home and studied my yearbook!
