I don't think he has to. But I do think he will be more gentlemanlike if he does.

I think it depends on the couple and what they want. For myself, if we mutually agreed to go out, I'd assume we were both going to pay for ourselves. If one of us invited the other one, I'd assume the person doing the inviting was going to pay for both of us, whether it was me or the man. But, I'd take extra money anyway, so I could pay for myself if the man only planned to pay for himself.

The person that suggests the date should pay. If the guy says, "Hey let's go on a date.", then he should pay. If it's the girl then she should pay. Sure it's nice to have the guy pay, but guys get tired of free loaders after awhile. Not saying all girls are like that, but we all know they're out there.

Being on a date with someone special to you, is the wish of anyone who is inlove. I think if I am on a date it's automatic that man should pay everything. That is the way of showing that they are gentleman enough to invite a girl to a date and gentleman enough to pay everything. And I think that is one character to look for on a guy.

In this case i hold to the traditions, because even if i am independent economically, i love to leave man to pay for me... only because for he it belongs to the courting. but i must to add that i have never met a boy what he let me pay my part or all...

They should. But I am the one who's paying. :(
