Always a busy day

First day of every month is always a busy day for me. The maidservant, the sweeper, the flower supplier need payment on this day itself, and I pay them without hesitation, they have their own family own life to run.
At 10am I rush to the bank to check if my pension from government is credited to my savings bank account. Next I draw 15 000 rupees usually to pay to grocery supplier newspaper/magazine and milk supplier, they are to be paid by 5th of a month. This also includes the expenses in vegetables and non-veg like meat, fish and eggs. In bank I deposit in the recurring deposit accounts, in names of my wife, daughter in laws and grandkids. This is another 10 000 rupees.
Next I move to the post office, make deposits in the recurring deposit account in my name and my wife’s name. In the afternoon or evening we go to temple of Goddess Samleswari, in whose name my city is named Sambalpur.
[b]I think first of every month is a busy day for all.

For me it actually depends on what day of the week the first day of the month falls on. I am able to typically pay bills on Mondays because that is the day that my husband gets paid. However, I'm able to mostly do that from home because of the fact that our bills are all able to be paid online. In addition to that, I have to write weekly checks to pay for my daughter's lunch money. We don't have to pay things only on the first day of the month.

Hi, Professor2010!
As a graduate student, my time circle is a week, not a month. Every week is a repeat of its previous one. Usually I even can't remember what is the date, I only know it is Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday... and so on. Our living allowance is credited in our bank account in the last workday every month, so I will check it in that day.

It's usually a pretty busy day with me as well, but I don't want it to be.

hello professor!
i am always busy, everyday, not only on the first day of the month. Good for you that your most busiest on the first day of a month. Its only during weekend that my schedule slacks but even so, it is still busy, being a single, working mother to three kids. Sometimes, i just wish that the government would somehow formulate a law that will regulate working hours with the government to only 4 hours so we can spend some time with our families and other things we would like to pursue. As it is, we are spending more than half the time on work and we cramp all other activities of what's left with our daily time.

That's the way it could be in this household as well. Most of the time, due to managing our money throughout the month we can just spread it out over two weeks. Some bills we pay early. We use a weekly budget method. I realize not everyone has this luxury. I thank God every day that we can.

i find the last day of the month as the busiest for me. same as you, bills had to be paid and supplies to be inventoried and replenished.
must be really busy especially with hired people around you that needs to be paid.
