Recently I discover that I had 2 white patches on my forehead. I am shocked and did not know what happen. My friend told me this is due to stress. I done a research online, and realize that Vilitigo is a chronic disorder that causes depigmentation of patches of skin. It occurs when melanocytes, the cells responsible for skin pigmentation, die or are unable to function.
The cause of vitiligo is not known, but doctors and researchers have several different theories. One theory is that people develop antibodies that destroy the melanocytes in their own bodies. Another theory is that melanocytes destroy themselves. Finally, some people have reported that a single event such as sunburn or emotional distress triggered vitiligo.
I am kind of sad ..............

I completely understand your feelings with this as 9 years ago I noticed a dime size spot on one of my wrists. I though perhaps it was related to some sun cancer as it was not going away. So I visited a doctor who explained it was vitiligo and I freaked out.
But not to worry too much my dear it depends how when the onset is as I can tell you I found after 5 years after that 2 other dimes sizes spots on my chest, outside of this it has been a slow progression. But none the less still dis heartening as when I remember people with the condition are so over flooded that it frightens me to think that some day I too could be this way.
So far I have been blessed not to but still nothing we can do to prevent it. So I understand your feeling and hope you too are like me and that the progression is a very slow one. Best of Luck maehan.

Sorry to hear that but as for stress causing it well I don't know. I have lived a long stressful life for so many years and other then getting silver hair in patches I have never got white patches on my skin. I guess it could be possible I have heard of the condition but never because of stress though. I would go see a doctor just to be sure because it might be nothing.
