Am I the only one who sees God as really laid back?

I'm one who believes that everyone has their own perception of God, and nobody's is more right than anybody else's. I've always been one to believe he's not as strict as some people make him out to be. I don't think when I go to heaven I will be "judged", because we spend our whole lives being judged. I don't think my God would be that harsh. I just think it's about being a good person. I know good people who don't pray, but I still think since they have a good conscience and are aware of those around them, God will save them a place in Heaven. Am I the only one who believes God is just a cool guy whose really down to earth and will sit back and have a conversation with you? I talk to God like he's a good friend, not someone who would judge me.

I believe a good person is the one who lives according to his given nature. God has given one nature to animal and another to us human. Some human prefer to live not according to their nature but according to their base nature. God is not pleased with such persons. God would judge them according to this yardstick. God has given us free will. We can either chose to live as human or as animal. In other words God lets you live as you want to live. This free will also gives us a choice to chose our punishment. We can choose either heaven on this earth or hell to live in. Likewise we can chose to live in heaven in the after life or chose to live in hell. The choice is ours. Those who suffer they must not blame God for it. It is because of their own doings.

I agree Jesus too suffered though he committed no sin. It means that sufferings to have a purpose. We must accept that our sufferings is serving God's some purpose.

"Those who suffer they must not blame God for it.It is becuase of their own doings"/ Even though God shouldn't be blamed for those who suffer by their own actions, there are many who suffer terrible tragedies through "no fault" or "doing" of their own. For whatever reason these things happen to innocent people, no one really knows, Many people have had thewir faith terribly shaken, by questioning why bad things have happened in their lives yet, receiving no answers.

If people adopt the idea that the only authority needed to define God is what they think, then your concept is fine, but it is just one opinion out of many. I think it would be hard to put your faith in that kind of God. If, however, you discover the God of the Bible who has given us His Word in written format so we can know much about Him, then you really have a place to put your faith. Once you get to know this God, you will know that He is not defined by what your think.

I am glad that the God of the Bible is not defined by what I feel or think, or anything I do. He is far superior to all His creation.

Hi there, I hope I don't come off sounding too offensive but I am not one who believes in God as such and think that everything in the bible was just some clever mans way to pull off a really good con job but I do believe in good karma and think that in some ways it is basically the same thing. To me karma could be God and therefore if we all tried to be kind and compassionate in this life, then only good will come to us in the next.

All God's children will know God's unconditional love. Yes, even all those atheists and nonbelievers. It's a love you will do anything for!! God will show you that it has never been about punishment. It's about education. You will see where you need to be. The only one who will judge you is YOURSELF!!!

Yes, some time this happens in life when we think that God laid back, but it is not actually like this, God is watching us and He listen our every request but only gives us those things which are good for us, if you dont get a certain thing then it is not that God laid back but I think it is because it is not good for us Be happy and be the reason of happiness in others lives....:)
