I am not sure where you read this news. In fact, from all that I have heard Hodgson wants to retain both these players. Of course, both of them have expressed concerns the way in which Liverpool is headed currently, but I am not sure that Hodgson would be interested in selling either on his own.
Cheers!

Maybe Hodgson feels that he cannot work with stars and that is why he wants to sell them both. We know that he made a great performance with Fulham last season, a team without stars, but we hard working ones. Or maybe Liverpool has serious money issues and they need money fast. I am sure that if this is true, they will have no problems finding buyers to this players. Torres is a genius striker and Reina can be a good goalkeeper when he is fully concentrated. Who knows what is going on in the inside of the team, why this rumor appeared and if this rumor has anything to do with reality.

Maybe he didn't know how he is going to communicate with Torres. It is just a supposition, I don't know what is going on at Liverpool.

I don't agree I feel getting rid of Reina is a good move and can allow them to find some youth. Reina is 3rd rate keeper for his national team. They might be looking to start with a new team and change their future. With regards to Torres, money is still an issue so they might want to cash out and buy a few cheaper places and repay debt and start working on rebuilding the club.

I do not think that its true that he wants to sell them. He wants to strenghten the team not make it weaker.

I feel sad as well.
But Liverpool's performance is so poor this season, its hard to detain Torres and Reina.
Its true that Liverpool isnt strong, accroding to this performance,it is impossible to get chance to join next season's Euro games.
As a Liverpool fans,I hope new boss can help Liverpool return former.Even though I know that is too hard.
