Has anyone heard or has been told they have ankylosing spondylitis

Going back almost 2 years ago I was pregnant with our 9th baby! My husband would always seems to be in so much pain esp in his sleep! I had asked him time and time again to go see the Dr but kept telling me it was just my pregnancy symptoms that he was having! Well it sill continue even after the birth of our daughter so in and around a month I called and made an appointment for him which he did attend! The Dr notice something different with the dimensions not adding so they wanted him to go for an X-ray and blood work! Well between the X-ray and the blood it showed that he has ankylosing spondylitis which is a form of some arthritis....I was just wondering if anyone out here has had this or knows someone who has or has been taught .....Is there a cure? will this get worse as time goes by. Other than this my husband is a Healthy 36 year old. Thanks for any suggestions or help Stacy
