They are always exciting! Never boring! My favorites don't always win, and well, that's part of the whole thing, but that's ok.
The entire concept is intriguing. I mean think about it, a person already has the job, but they have to work to keep it. Someone else wants the job, so they work to get it. A bunch of people vote, and just because more people voted for one than the other; the winner gets the job.
If the one who had the job loses, they simply step down. No wars, no weapons, no violence. They simply make a speech and move on.

yes it is exciting. I love election day. Not only because we get to vote but also because it means the end of campaigns.I am SOOOO ready for this election cycle to be over. Was it just me or was it crazier than usual? Much dirtier and full of BS things instead of focusing on the issues. I know they always get ugly...but this time seemed to be worse. There were a lot more personal attacks.
I can tell you a some poeple that are not happy it is election day. My kids. They know election day means mommy has the TV on various news channels instead of on cartoons or video games. Poor things. LOL.

OMG no. I need a break from the BS. Maybe I will just watch cartoons with the kids.

well i am not taking bets on the outcome of these elections myself, i can't be bothered figuring out the odds. however i will happily accept wagers on when the world is going to end this week. last week it ended on thursday, at 3pm. the winner won 6 carrots.

Dittos all the way through, Ted.
I'm a total political junkie so election day and night is like the Super Bowl, World Series and Daytona 500 all rolled into one. Sometimes I actually sit there with my "scorecard" keeping track of the various races or the states, in the case of Presidential elections. I love listening to the many pundits explaining why different groups of people vote as they do and I often find it hilarious. We don't all vote in blocks and if you think about it most of us actually can be included in many blocks, most of which contradict others when it comes to political issues.
I think too many Americans take for granted the peaceful transfer of power that takes place here on each major election. They don't stop and think about how fortunate we are to live in a country where that's possible.

Hey Annie! Missed you while I was gone!
Yup, I agree, this is the Superbowl, World Series and Daytona 500! Too bad we can't get together to watch it all unfold!

Yes! I do love election days.. mostly to quote you, because "If the one who had the job loses, they simply step down. No wars, no weapons, no violence." Which is certainly not true of many places upon Earth..

i hate election days, it's like the festivities of the fakes. it's not all about public service, but it's all about the THE CHAIR.. it has been and it will always be.
