God always answers prayers. Although not always in the manner that we want. He says "No", "Yes" or "Wait". He answers our prayers not according to what we want but according to His perfect will for our lives. He knows exactly what is best for us that is why our prayers should be with the faith that His answers is for our good and for His greater glory.

I think praying for others rather than for your self is much helpful.

God answers prayers from the heart, but your prayers should be in tune with God and the Bible is His word, so that's probably what this is based on. Don't put too much faith in it, but put your faith in God. HE is the one you should be concerned about, not how to formulate a prayer to ensure an answer. That doesn't work. God is supreme and is not interested in our formulations.

God answer persons who are Obedient to Him. It doesn't matter if you pray scriptural or the ones you make up. As long as your prayer is reverent and you are meek then you will receive your answer. God told us in Isaiah that before the word come from our mouth He will answer us as long as we are obedient to Him.

The Bible says, "The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective." James 5:16
I've don't remember reading anywhere in the Bible that says Scripture prayers are more effective.
