What is with men and the movie THE GODFATHER? please enlighten me. Thanks!

I think it has more to do with the story, how it develops, excpetional script, great performance than with the fact that it is a mafia movie, it has more to do with the development of the characters and the fact it is from the mob/mafia adds to the movie, but it is not its greatest strength.

It is basically about the Mafia and how they deal with matters that displease them. As a matter of fact, there is a high probability that mafia money was actually used in making the film, as the mafia now have a lot of financial interests, some of whihc are quite legitimate. LOL

That's a good question. I think most men really wish deep down that they were in the mafia, and they like the movie more because of that. Plus the movie is well written and the actors are great, but I think the real reason is the mafia thing.

Thanks for the insight! I like THE GODFATHER as well. I can watch the trilogy in one sitting..its just that I don't know why they are so obsessed by it. Thanks.. atleast now I have an idea.
