I have three questions for you, mylotters. first do you think Prayer is superstitions? and second, Do you think GOD is imaginary? Religious people pray for many reasons...If your God has a 'divine plan' and our predefined Life or Destiny and knows the future of every living thing, then isn’t prayer redundant? Or do you think prayer is necessary in this case..? I personally believe our life path is defined by our KARMA, and Prayer is just a spiritual wish that makes us stronger in psychological manner and helps us to achieve our goal...nothing related with GOD? what do you think please reply

First I will answer by saying I am strong believe in the power of prayer. Whether it is factual or other do not believe it is something that makes me stronger. Having lived the life that I have and am I can say that without it I would not be standing today. To shortcut your questions I will sum it up by saying that positive thinking will get us very far. As to whether any of it is superstitious all I have to say is that for me it is my way of coping with life and well without it I would be a very negative person all the time. As I am my worst enemy my friend and leaning towards my prayers allows to be a bit smoother on myself.

I agree with you Gurl. Do you think Crazy is happy with himself? Look how his every discussion mirrors his self-battle against God, religion and faith. It seems he wants everyone to confirm his ideas, before he decided himself.

@jennyze I am neither against GOD nor Religion...My discussion is based on the way I think, and my curiosity in knowing people's opinion and answers on certain topic...

I dont think that there is a god but i believe that humans way back in our past created god. They needed to have some reason to be on earth and living pointless on earth to just die after serveral years would be useless. Now a days there are many people that believe in god because they need something to explain all the bad things wrong with the world. They need to believe that the bad people will be punished forever. But they also say that god always forgives, soo if he does then why do people go to "hell"? There are many questions to ask when it comes to god and that is why i urely believe in what i see and not something that could be made up.

Hi Crazy_Poster, No, I don't think that it's superstitious to pray but there are different ways to pray. I don't think of God as a person and don't believe in pleading with God to answer our prayer. Prayer does not change God but it may help us. I believe in positive prayer or affirmations. I think that the God that many people believe in is imaginary. There is no old man in the sky who is watching everything that we do and keeping tally. God is universal mind, the sum total of the energy that makes up all life. I believe in karma and in reincarnation but prayer is not fruitless if it helps a person in accepting what is or gives them peace of mind. For me personally, I think that life itself is a prayer and what we do is much more important than what we say. Blessings.

I definitely don't think that God is imaginary, I've believed in God since I was a child and I've also been a praying person since I was a young child as well. In addition to that, the thought has never crossed my mind that saying prayers was superstitious. That said I think that we are able to pave our own path in our lives, but it is something that there is a certain part of that is predistinguished when we are born.

Hi Crazy_Poster! Nice to see you back. The basic issue here is 'believe'. If you have faith, then you would believe that Prayer is NOT superstitious. That GOD is not imaginary. That Prayer is Nor redundant is Very Necessary.

it depends on the person :0 i believe in god and i do prayers but i don't rely to god all the things that happened to me..yes God is above us all..but the things that happened to us is just because of what we do..God is only there to guide us..we are the ones who shape our future and not God :)

Hi crazy_poster! Firstly i believe in God, a prayer wasn't a superstitions, it's somekind of wish to God, and it means we always need Him, God is not an imaginary, because do you think our soul is an imaginary too if it's not coming from Him?? If life feels hard, and there is no way out, sometimes if God hear our pray, then suddenly there will be easy way out, unpredictable way out, i don't so much believe in KARMA, because when we born as a baby, it's always start as NEW BORN, KARMA is only happen in the same life, sometimes we didn't know God answer to our prayer, is the answer "YES, GRANTED", "NO GOOD FOR YOU", or "WAIT, IT'S NOT THE RIGHT TIME" If there's nothing happen after we pray, the answer is maybe the two last reason, to make it sure, just give all of your effort related to the prayer, if you always fail, then the answer is NO GOOD FOR YOU, and it means you must have do something different besides it, but if you can solve your problems one by one, it means You will have it, in the right time!

I think that prayer is important for a lot of people and it kind of gives them hope. I pray myself and I know that it makes me feel good inside, I don't feel alone when I am in prayer. I don't think that prayer is superstitious and in actual fact it can have a real impact in certain situations. Once upon a time I used to be a regular church goer but I gave that up. I don't know if I believe in a God as such but I believe in something! I think that there is definitely some kind of intelligence watching over us, an entity far more advanced. I think that it would be illogical to say that there's absolutely nothing out there in the Universe! I do believe in the idea of Karma and I believe it's important to always try and be nice towards others and giving. I've heard the saying that this makes the world go round, do good to others and it's coming back at you, do bad to others and that is also coming back at you. Anyway, this Universe is definitely complex and there's a lot to understand about it! Andrew

The power of prayer is a very existent and tangible force that can really make a difference in your life. The power of prayer goes beyond mere positive thinking and optimism for it allows something greater than us to mediate into any circumstance and situation and to make real lasting change.

First, I don't believe that prayer is superstition but a privilege given to us, as humans to talk to a supernatural GOD who created us. It's not even a wish, but prayer is also the means of communication of our spirit to the Spirit of the living GOD.If prayer has nothing to do with GOD, to whom do we pray. GOD is not imaginary. We are the proof of HIS existence. GOD is GOD!

Personally, I believe in the power of prayer. I used to think prayer had to be presented to the powers that be in certain prescribed ways. I was raised to belive that in order for God to answer your prayer, you must be very penitent and petitionary. My mind has changed, not because I read something new or heard a report, not because angels are making a popular comeback. I personally have seen prayer answered in big ways, not only for me but for many around me.

I personally have a strong belief and faith in God and in the power of prayer. Although the phrase, "to see is to believe", is applicable to most situations, for us who have a personal relationship with God, in this case it doesn't really matter. Faith tells us to believe even though we cannot see or even touch. Believing that there is a God who upholds truth, goodness, among others, helps us to live hopeful, to live with good reasons. I can't imagine life without God. When everything is gone, when every person turns their back on us, when the whole world is against us, when we feel like giving up, the only thing that we can hold on to is our faith in God. We can't just rely on our own strength. I do believe that God has a plan for each of us. We may not understand how it fully works, we don't think or act the same way God does. That's the wonder of how our faith works for us and for God. I don't think that prayers are redundant because of this. Praying is a form of communication with God. We pray not only because we ask something from Him like what we want to have, what we want to be, what we want to happen, etc. We also pray to thank Him, share with Him our feelings or emotions about something, and so on. Communication is essential in any relationship just like our relationship with Him. There are times when we don't follow His teachings or we stray away from His presence, that's the gift of freewill, and He can't complete His plan for us if we're like this. This is where we could also use the power of prayer. We ask for direction, strength, forgiveness, etc. Through prayers, we let Him know our desires like how much we need Him and how much we want to surrender to His will. By praying, we are enlightened with what we need to do, what God wants for us. That's the power of prayers. He can now complete His divine plan because we are now willing. It doesn't mean we understand it now. It means that whether we understand it or not, we put our complete hope and trust in Him. We surrender the keys and let Him take the wheel. Somehow, I think this is how it goes. It's Complicated, perplex, whatever description we could all think of, but we don't really need scientific explanations for all of these. We simply believe. =)

Hi crazy poster, Ans1. Prayer is not superstitious.Because there is some supreme power that exists and that supreme power is the spark called life in every human being. Ans2. Prayers can change fate. I think i have answered three questions in the above 2 answers. Do good deeds god is with you in every good deed and he helps you to attain what is needed by you. May god bless you.

prayer is not superstition and god is not imaginary.. God is not a material to look at or to talk to.. god is nature.. that is god is just love.. prayers or temples are made to be peaceful at least for that amount of time and remember the original nature of the human being.. our nature is to love everyone with innocence of a child.. prayers make us get a path to love everyone and once we understand the god in us then everything is in our hands and things what ever we want just happen. we can see and increase the god nature in us through meditation..

No, I don't think God is imaginary, or that prayer is superstition. Even if your parents knew everything that was going to happen to you, they'd still want you to talk to them, which is what prayer is. They wouldn't want you to ignore them because they know the future. They'd want a relationship with you.

Yes, I think prayer is a type of superstition and depending on which god you are talking about, some are imaginary. I think karma is superstition too.

Prayer is not an irrational belief to an extent that one may term it as superstition. Prayer is an intention, which may emanate out of fear but certainly not out of ignorance. One may direct prayers towards God for a noble cause, even though there might not be any fear. We get what we anticipate and prayers serve exactly this purpose.
