King day. 1976 Jimmy Carter defeats Gerald Ford for president. 1976 New Jersey voters approve gambling for Atlantic City. 1962 John F. Kennedy announces Cuban missile bases were being dismantled. 1954 Taiwan and U.S. sign military pact. Just thought I'd share this with fellow myLotters. hi haddowz that is interesting as we see those things at the time they happened then time rushes on and we forget all about those facts. I also love to find a site that will take your birth date and show you what happened on the day you were born.Yep we have to have some fun every now and then.

I like to see what happened in history "on this day." It helps keep a perspective on how and why things are the way they are today, but then, I enjoy history. I think we need to know it to keep us from making the same mistakes and to help us do the right things again.

It does not seem to matter whether we know what happened in the past or for what reasons, we still seem to make the same mistakes. I guess it's just human nature. Oh well, it's still interesting though, have fun and enjoy. 3rd.
