I'm not talking about "getting paid". I'm talking about gaining friends or participating in so many discussions. Things like that. Me.......I'm going for a ranking. I've picked a category that I feel pretty well educated in and spend most of my time responding in that particular category. Right now I'm ranked about 1000 out of 24000+ people. My goal is to be number 1. What about you? Do you have any myLot goals? How do you intend to achieve them?

I think that's probably the biggest attraction for myLot users.......to see different discussions. What people are experiencing in their lives. Things like that. We're all so different from each other and, if we're open to it, can learn a lot from each other. Thanks for sharing!

I joined myLot over 2 years ago, and I am certainly very glad that I did. This is a community of wonderful people from countries around the world. That is the value of myLot to me, meeting, making friends, and cooperating for mutual benefit. I do not keep any goals here. I just want to stay active in the community and get to know the people, traditions, and cultures.

Thanks for the reply Greenline. I'm sure that as long as you stay active, you'll continue meeting new people and learning new things. That's also something I really enjoy about participating in this forum. If somebody makes a post that I find particularly interesting, it always makes me take a look at their profile. It's always surprising to find out where somebody is from and what kinds of things they like to discuss here. Keep at it!

I don't have a set goal, although most days when I log in I like to post at least a minimum of 5 times. But that's very loose and it's more often a result of started discussions in my main three interest groups and by friends.
I would like to make top 100 ranking in "make extra money", "mylot" and "internet" groups. Simply for the fact of knowing I've helped that many people to get ranked that high.
As for money goals, none at all here. The friends, knowledge and referrals gained here far outweigh any amount of earnings I get for posting. The money is a pure "extra" benefit for me. Although if the money aspect wasn't around many of the people wouldn't be either.

"Make Extra Money" is my main category of interest. Of all the money making categories here, it seems to be the most active one. That's the one that I'm at about 1000 out of the 24,000+ participants! Still have a ways to go but, like you, I try to make a set number of posts in that particular category whenever I visit here. Seems that whenever I do reach that particular "mini goal", I always get a best response from somebody! Lol. I'm the same also in the fact that money is not much of a motivating factor for me in participating here. I'm more interested in learning new things...whether it be about cultures, lifestyles or various business ventures. I'm also guessing that you're absolutely right that the number of members here would be drastically reduced without the compensation aspect. At any rate, it's always nice to reach the payout! lol.

Mylot is the best place to spend most of your time. Initially I joined mylot only to earn money, but now a days i spend time in mylot for fun and to gain knowledge. In my early days of mylot I have goals set, but now a days I hardly follow any.
I have goals on time to spend on MyLot, Now a days I am not able to spend hardly 30 minutes daily on Mylot.

I know the feeling Saichandtalluri! There are times when my schedule is just so busy that I can't get here for a week or so! It drives me crazy because I really use myLot as a place to release some of my everyday tensions, you know? I find it relaxing in some way to come here and see what people are talking about. If it interests me, I jump right in and give my 2cents! lol.

Hello veromar,
My goals for mylot are the following to meet people and to reach 10 star and keep it there. I answer 5 questions a day which is not easy when working two jobs 3 days a week etc... plus household chores.
Also my number one goal is to have fun with this as best as I can.
Thanks and have a great day
Sincerely Unique16

Wow Unique16! You sound like a very busy person! I know exactly what you mean. Sometimes the day is over before I've had a chance to come to myLot to see what's going on. When I find myself with such limited time to participate, I generally only scan my main categories of choice or browse the "new discussion" section. For me, the fun is also a main factor! Thanks for your input! I hope you make your 10star goal and are able to maintain it!

Well Youless, with over 18 THOUSAND posts, you're probably in contention for that leading goal! WOW!!!!! I can't say that I've really noticed many people in the discussions that I participate in with as many posts as you. That's quite an accomplishment in itself! You've got me wondering just HOW MANY posts the leading poster has! I'm going to have to start paying more attention! lol.

Currently I'm ranked 622 out of 25,842 in mylot.com. (Maybe after this post I'm even higher :)) I'm hoping to be in the top 100 or something of that category. It's not very likely that I will achieve the number 1 position, but I'll try my very best. :) I wonder how many discussions the number 1 person has started/responded to in the category mylot.com...

I have no idea how many posts are necessary to reach the number 1 spot! Is that all it takes? Number of posts? Do "best responses" have anything to do with it? As I started writing this, I noticed you are now 617! Good job! You jumped 5 spots from the time you participated in this discussion! lol.

All you can do Cutie18f is POST, POST, POST and then post some more! lol. It takes some time but you will eventually reach the payout. It really just depends on how active you are.....and it seems like you're a fairly active person based on the number of posts you've made so far. Keep it up and you will reach your goal!

The only goal I have with myLot is to continue to enjoy the site as much as I currently do. As for obtaining great friends and bonding moments that is great but I have not set a specific goal with that per say.

That's a great "goal" Hardworkinggurl! After all, it's it not any fun, why do it?!?! lol. I really hadn't purposefully set the goal of achieving top ranking in my favorite category. It just sort of happened when I noticed where I stood. Kinda spurred me on to break the top thousand users, which is what led me to starting this discussion. Funny how things work like that! lol. I also don't focus too much on making friends or "bonding". I just follow whatever mood I happen to be in and jump into any discussion that fits with that mood. Thanks for your input!

I wish the same for you Sweetlove. Personally, I hardly ever venture into the relationships category. Let's just say it's not one of my strong suits! lol. It must be difficult having you bf living far away from you. Keep on posting and hopefully you can visit him again soon.....not to mention becoming the leader in the relationships category!

Hi Calpro. 150 posts in two days! WOW! I've been a member here for over a year and only have 600 something! lol. You'll make friends easily as long as you participate. From my experience, it's a great community and people are always helpful in figuring out how things work. Keep at it and enjoy yourself!

I really dont have any goal like you do. For about two weeks I kept track of the rankings just for the heck of it but I dont care anymore about them. As long as my star doesnt go below a 10 I will continue to be happy. I love mylot. Last month I set a goal to reach payout. I made it with 75 cents extra approximately. This past month I reached payout easily. I think each month it would be awesome to earn more then the previous month even if its only by a few cents. So far for November I'm only averaging about 21 cents a day. Thats about half what I was making last month but I havent had as much time to comment lately. I hope to get back to making what I was about 40 cents a day.

The same to you! More support for you in your goal. I guess the only way we can reach our goals is to just keep posting and participating! Lol. For me, sometimes it's very difficult to find discussions that interest me and that causes me to go a couple of days or more without posting. For some reason, I can never come up with a topic that seems to get people interested enough to participate. Seems like people are finding THIS one interesting though! Lol. Keep posting!

My MyLot goal is getting in 25 posts per day, I haven't been keeping up with it that well though, as I have a ton of other sites to use and not enough time for writing and I have a lot of those sites too.

I have a mylot goal.
getting paid is one of the goals.
but in my every day participation
i try to start a certain number of discussion topics,
or responds to a certain number of discussion a day.
i think everybody on mylot has goals.
and thats what makes mylot a worth while experience.
we can set goals and accomplish them.
