If you were a home stager, what color would you have the walls painted?

We're currently painting a house that is going up for sale after this is done, and we're quite shocked at the home stager's idea of paint colors. If I were staging the home for sale, I certainly wouldn't paint the walls the colors she's having us paint them, as it's just too dark. We're painting all the walls 3 different shades of gray. This makes the house look smaller rather than larger, and this house is of an average size. There is a decent amount of natural light upstairs, so the darker colors aren't so bad, however, the main floor doesn't have as much light, so the gray just makes it darker and colder. I have to wonder what she was thinking when she decided to go with these colors, I know I wouldn't want a house with dark colors, I would be re-painting as soon as I could. I'm sure the new owners of the house will do just that. It's bad enough that the house is on a main road with 24 hour transit and no parking whatsoever. The darkness of the home really detracts from the value of the home, not just the location and lack of parking. What would you do in this case? Would you have painted the walls a brighter color?
