I'm a big fan of the Harry Potter books and I've been reading the series for over 8 years now. However there is just one thing that is really confusing me.
*SPOLIER ALERT* (I don't think that anyone would view this topic that hasn't read the book but if you are one then look away now if you don't what the plot given away...)
Anyway, when Harry Potter "dies" and goes to a heaven-like place with Dumbledore there, who is that creature cowering in the corner? Is it Voldemort's soul seeing as Harry just destroyed another horcrux or is it something else??
Haha, I'll probably seem like a right Harry Potter nerd now =D

I was confused about this too, but that's what I think it is, and since you three all do too, I will assume we are right. We'll see what the movie makes of it.

That was how I understood it too - it was Voldemort's soul that made Harry a horcrux and that Voldemort himself destroyed

Ok cool thank you, that was how I understood it initially but I was just worried if it was only me who thought it was that.

I personally see it as the horcrux piece of Voldemort's soul which broke off from him when he tried and failed to kill Harry. When he shot Harry with the second Avada, it killed that piece of him still lodged inside Harry. So Harry really couldn't die by Voldemort's hands, but if he was going to be murdered, he really couldn't be killed by anyone else.
