I know many people are excited about the new Harry Potter movie coming out this fall and it's looking good based on the previews. It's part one of the big finale which is exciting and a little sad for the fans. It must also be sad for the cast as well too, though, especially the kids. They practically grew up on these movies and its like graduating once these films are done (which technically it is done for them because they've already filmed everything I think and have moved on)
But do you think their fans will be able to accept the cast outside of Hogwarts? Its kind of hard for stars- especially young ones- who have made themselves a name with a particular character on a series of films to continue their movie career after the film series is over.
A perfect example is the cast of Star Wars- mainly Mark Hamil and Carrie Fisher- who both kind of was held back in their careers because they will constantly be known as Luke and Leia Skywalker of Star Wars.
Do you think the young cast will be able to break from under the "Harry Potter" cloak or will they forever be doomed to be known as Harry Potter, Ron Weasley and Hermoine Granger?

Everyone will always know them as the Potter Clan, but I think they will eventually break out--Harrison Ford did. Daniel Radcliffe has done some work outside the Potter realm already. It maybe a while before we see them in anything else, but when you like 8 million per film you can afford to take a break from the biz for awhile.

Harrison Ford is a great example of how to do it.
Maybe a break now would help them to break away from the Harry Potter fame. I guess only time will tell what their futures will hold.

I really hope that they can break away from their characters from Harry Potter. I haven't seen any of their shows after the series, but I've heard about Daniel Radcliffe going on a theater play. As for Emma Watson, isn't she studying in an Ivy League university?

Is Ivy League the same as Brown University? I heard Emma was a Literature major at Brown U.

I don't know much about teh cast. but it really gives them a big break for new movies for them to be part with. some things come to an end, they are just beginning to start with a real life stardome.

It definitely did give them a big break. I believe that for all of them, Harry Potter was their first film so what a way to begin your acting career.
Hopefully this is just the beginning and not the end of their acting careers.

It depends on how well they act. They all need to try something different. I know Daniel Radcliffe is shooting another movie that isn't Harry Potter, but I don't think the movie isn't going to be a hit. I think all three might continue acting, but no more hit movies. So we all going to know them as Harry, Ron, and Hermione Granger for the rest of their lives only.

That's usually the case. The actors of a big phenomenon movie go on with their career but never achieve as big of a hit as before. I just cross my fingers that at least one actor might have some success in the careers and don't become bitter "has-been"s

Yes, they most certainly will always be remembered for being part of Harry Potter.
I heard that JK Rowling was thinking about continuing the series, or at least writing a book that might involve some of the characters.

Each and every young cast of harry potter did their very best (obviously!) and had put their acts together in making up the Harry Potter a big hit all over the world, and i'm definitely sure with their talents they won't, i mean they were recognized by their characters name but they will surely outshine it and have their future projects, and already a well matured actor/actresses of their own generation

I actually do. I'm not sure about the Hermione character because she hasn't done much and I've heard she may not even want to continue acting... so, she may always be known as Hermione, but she may not have a problem with that. Harry and Ron, however, have already branched out and people seem to have accepted it. Harry Potter is a huge franchise, yes, but I would not put it on the same level as Star Wars. Don't get me wrong, I'm actually not a Star Wars fan, BUT I definitely think Star Wars is bigger than Harry Potter and making a movie off a best selling series in the 70s would most certainly type cast people. However, it's 2010 and the way we view people and the way we view characters has evolved. I think they'll be fine.

I didn't know the actress playing Hermione was thinking about quitting acting. Well if she does, I guess she will always be known as Hermione. lol.
You're right, we now view actors and characters differently than viewers did in 70s.

The thought of it makes me sad. It's like i just finished reading book 7 again. They have to let Harry Potter go. Even though it is really sad for the actors to part, but life must go on beyond Hogwarts. They already have accepted different roles on movies. I like to watch Daniel Radcliffe or Rupert Grint in an action movie. Or Hermione Granger in a romantic movie.
I am a big fan of HP. I don't like the movie but I fancy the book. I read it again last month. I don't watch the movie since it will frustrate me in the end. Especially part 7, it's about to end and I don't like endings. For about 9 years, fans have been so supportive. They, including me, can't thank JK Rowling enough for making her imaginations come to life.

I've never read the books, but my friends who did say they love to re-read them, especially right before going to see the movies.
Have you heard the rumor that JK Rowling might have another book up her sleeve that might involve the Harry Potter characters?
