My little niece is only one year and two month old, and so happy to learn to talk. Every day she just keeps talking like “Yi-yi, ya-ya, hey-hey, woo-woo”. We feel so funny to hear her little voice. Usually we translate her words to what we think it would be, so as to teach her some simple words and sentences. But she always laughs at or hits on us and then goes away, not satisfied with the translation.
One day, I was playing with her in my sitting room, her aunt came in and teased her by the gate, but she seemed to ignore it and just played happily by herself. Her aunt then came in and teased her by sticking her in the forehead. My little niece felt so puzzled and said “why--stick me---in-the----face?”
“Why stick me in the face?” I repeated in great astonishment!
Well, that is awesome, one whole sentence!
“What did you said?” we asked, can’t believe our hearing.
She felt so disappointed at our understanding and gave no other word.
Well, awesome, that is awesome, one whole sentence!
I hold her happily to her grandma in the dining room, “Jane just said one whole sentence, why stick me in the face!”
Her grandma couldn’t believe this, and asked her granddaughter “Is it true? What did you say?”
Mt little niece gave no answer but pointed at one spiced egg on the table, “Can it be eaten?”
“Can it be eaten?”
“Can it be eaten?” Woo, terrible! Another sentence.
“Yes, of course!” my mother grabbed the egg and bitted it with its shell on.
