Thinking of studying fashion merchandising

Im really considering studying fashion merchandising. Its something which has always been on my mind but have never gotten down to doing it. So what I'm asking is, does anyone have any advice on where to start with this passion? I would love to do something online a quick course which i can easily get through. Or maybe there are other options?

I haven't studied it myself, but I wish I had, it seems really interesting after all. I do know someone who studied it though, she just took one short course, then got a job, and her new employer paid for the courses after that. According to her, this is a pretty common way to educate yourself further in that business.
