Meaning of 'rich':
There are persons who earn a good salary and can presume to be rich, having a big villa or house, going to expensive restaurants, having a good private medical insurance...
In my case, I am not financially rich but I have all I need like a family, love, health, a part time job and so on. So I feel rich even if I cannot afford some bills at time.
When you read or listen the word 'rich', do you immediatly think about money?
What's the meaning of rich for you?
And also, would you be happier being rich?

Hello Camomile07,
to me, being rich is not all about money. Of course, the word 'rich' represents 'a lot' and usually is being compared to money, but I think that what you describe with having a lovely family, being happy and healthy, having the necessarry things to live in this world (- which is sadly based around money -), is the real richness of life! I myself am very rich in this matter - and the main part is that I have people around me that care for me and love me, no matter how much money or values I have or don't have. I think that people with lots of money do not often have the chance to get to know 'real' friends around them. In my opinion, money makes life easier, but true happiness is not about money, it is about certain satisfactions in our lives. A filled bank account lets people feel secure - but the happiness comes with feelings - and people that are happy, (only) 'because' they have money, are probably never going to feel true richness and love - the love of our friends can be unconditional, money can not.

Hi tanja0909,
thank's for your comment, you're right in what you're saying. Money is only the resource for everyones purpose. Money can be a big help in live, but there are plenty of really imortant things you're not able to buy like friendship or love.

I have never been rich, as the material world defines rich. Since I got right with God, I have always been happy. God always supplies that which I need. When I hear the word rich, I think of God, who owns everything.

That's a very great way to live and to feel happy. Many people are not able to live in peace with God in the way God would like them to do. Thanks for posting.

To me "Rich" is having money to spend on things that we want, but also having money to spend on things we need. It also means being "rich" in love and in life. People don't need a lot of money to be "Rich". I would be happier being "richer" I suppose, but we have money to pay our bills and that makes me happy.

Having enough money to pay your daily bills give you a special sense of peace, which helps to be happier. That's right. But having too much money could be also boring, when you realize that you may buy almost everything you want.
