wasting time

I have this theory I would like to put out there for consideration. It is about both wasting time and enjoying life. I think that should a person be genuinely enjoying that which he is doing, in any given situation, then that time he spends on this endeavor is not wasted time. This would apply whether or not the time was productive. Should a person be engaged in any activity that he truly does not enjoy, no matter how productive the activity, then that time is wasted. With this in mind, I posit that productivity has little to do with the worth of our time. The attitude of the mind is more important to the value of our life than is the productivity of our life.

hello cookieduster16! with that mindset, a given time is truly not wasted when one is truly enjoying it. I agree on this but on the other hand, a given time which is productive can also be said as a time not wasted, considering that its productive. I, therefore infer that wasting time should not be gauged whether its productive or not. Its truly a waste of time spent on something or someone which yields no produce and no enjoyment either. So, these two factors must either be present to be able to say that its not a waste of time.

I think you stated that better than I did. Each of must determine for himself the proper use of his own time. Some people work hard all the time, never playing. Some people play all the time, never working. I keep it all somewhere in between those two extremes.

I understand how you feel, I don't like to waste time either. Some people observe me at times when it looks as if I am idle, but really I am busy doing something. They just don't relate to what I am doing, and it looks to them like I am lazy.
