How long does these things last, I looked at dell to see how much they charge and they wanted 120 dollars. I needed 3 of them so I got them off ebay for 10 dollars each 3 months ago, problem with that is only one works now. How long are these batteries suppose to last and what and or where is a good place to get these cheap.

Now a days these electronics are not reliable, new thing can have some problem after one day, it is always advisable to always get any electronic in warranty with out warranty product mean it ll not last for one month.
My laptop battery was also like this but it was due to the usage, I never plugged off power from it, when I asked customer service for the good use, they said only use battery when you need it other wise use the power directly...:)
I think you may have done same, best thing is buy new one but it should have at least one year warranty...:)
best of luck for your new battery, it may last forever...

Yeah old laptop battery's are still function even today. They build them better and the machines never ran hot so the battery's life would be a lot greater then the hot faster laptops of today the suck the battery's dry in sometimes under an hour of high usage applications.I have an old laptop that is a p3 and its battery is still functional after almost 10 years and i can squeeze almost an hour out of it when my current laptop is 10 months old and i get under half an hour out of a battery that originally lasted over 2 hours.I really hope they redesign the battery's as they are wearing out to quickly and they are costly to replace.

Laptop battery can die even after a year of use.My laptop is less than a year old and it already has only 25-30 minutes of run time before it shutdown.Laptop's battery life is dramatically shortened if you leave it in an overly hot or cold environment and this can greatly shorten and even damage the battery so it is no longer functional.I have had a battery on my psp original and it still give me over 2 hours of run time and its over 5 years old, go figure.I guess the bigger the battery the shorter the life.

The original battery on my wifes laptop lasted just over a year... only just out of the 1 year warranty she got with it when i brought it for her. She has looked into a new battery, but the only one she can find that fits her laptop is one made by the brand of her laptop and it costs £79 so she hasn't bothered to get one yet. She doesn't really take her laptop out anywhere with her anyway so it doesn't bother her that she has to keep it plugged in all the time.

Don't buy used batteries, because it won't last long. As you experienced already. It is thousand times better to buy a low cost brand new battery than high quality used batteries. Have a wonderful day.
