When do you put up your Christmas tree?

Now that we're in a house with a window in our living room, we have a perfect place to put a tree.
Over the years, we haven't really paid attention as to when to put up our tree, as no one really ever saw it. But now we need to figure out when to put it up.
When do you normally put up your tree? In fact, the same goes for outdoor decorations?

I don't buy my Christmas tree until two weeks before Christmas because I purchase fresh cut trees. I also put ornaments that I buy from Crate and Barrel and other stores like Micheals. I love the holiday season and we put our tree in the living room by the window :)

Christmas starts early here in the Philippines. As soon as we hit the 'ber' months, the Christmas decors and songs abound the malls, the houses, schools. Our tree is not up yet, so we're kinda late now. But I promise, I won't let the weekend pass without having the tree up. My kids are now looking for the spot where they could put their wish letter for Santa :-)

We live in an apartment, so we have no place to put up a tree, with the cat around. He's just climb it. LOL At home with my mother, we always had a real tree, and we'd put it up a week or so before Christmas, and water it well, so the needles woudln't drop. Then we'd take it down on New Year's Day, and have a nice fire in the fireplace. The house smelled great for a week!!!

We put ours up in mid December.
I would personally like to have it around for longer but my Wife prefers to have it up around the dates which are fairly traditional. We put all our decorations up on the same day, although the date changes it never after my Wife's birthday. My parents used to put theirs up at the start of the month, then the decorations around when we do ours but they've stopped putting a tree up now.
Hoping to put up some Christmas lights these year, we have some in our windows put that's about it.

We haven't put up the tree for a long time since all of us kids had grown. Maybe now that my brother has his own family (and got the house we grew up in), we'll be spending Christmas there and they'll be putting up the tree for the kids. I remember that we put up the tree first or second week of December.
